For the ninth straight week Sweden’s ‘C Darwin2’ is sitting on top of the PocketFives rankings but if he’s not careful, he’s going to find two guys named Joao passing him by soon.

‘C Darwin2’ had just eight cashes over the last seven days and none were big enough to add to his lead. His biggest score was in the PokerStars Hot $215 where he finished 27th for $570.

While the Swede continues to hang on, two Brazilians continue to close the gap and the last player to hold the #1 spot before he took over is now within striking distance.

Joao ‘joaosimaobh’ Simao moved from #4 to #2 thanks to a Sunday haul that included two big wins and one other score that added to his points total.

Simao finished 117th in Event #2 of the World Championship of Online Poker or $1,759 and 117 points. He then took down an $82 No Limit Hold’em Six Max Hyper Turbo event on PokerStars for $6,931 and 197.41 points. That was just the appetizer though. He wrapped up his Sunday with a win in the partypoker Super High Roller for $52,197 and a whopping 441.59 points. Simao now has 7,382.04 PLB points, trailing ‘C Darwin2’ by just 401.04 points.

Joao Mathias ‘joaomathias’ Baumgarten, who was #2 last week, fell one spot this week to #3. He still managed to add to his total, though. He cashed 23 times with three of them earning him PLB points. He won the PokerStars Omania High Roller for $9,230 and 207.12 points. He also finished fourth in the PokerStars Big $215 on Sunday for $12,302 and 192.9 and 29th in WCOOP Event #1 for $3,217 and 169.9.

Another Swede, ‘lena900’, sits fourth overall giving the Scandinavian poker powerhouse a bookend on the two Brazilians. ‘lena900’ had 33 cashes this past week with three of them earning enough PLB points to move him from #5 to #4. He finished third in the partypoker High Roller for $8,262 and 134.89, fourth in the PokerStars $1,050 Sunday Grand for $18,266 and 222.37 and 28th in WCOOP Event #1 for $3,217 and 173.52.

Despite wrapping up the August Monthly PLB title, Alex ‘alexd2’ Dimitrov dropped from #3 to #5. The top-ranked Bulgarian returned to a full schedule in the first week of September after taking some time off in August for a vacation. His biggest score this past week was a win in the $109 NLHE event on PokerStars on Monday that earned him $3,749 and 137,48 points.

Working his way back into the top 10 this week was Jimmy ‘JMolloy’ Molloy. The Canadian grinder took down the PokerStars Big $55 for $9,097 and 239.9 on Saturday and then finished runner-up in the $109 Six Max Hyper-Turbo NLHE on PokerStars on Monday for $4,979 and 132.24.

The only player to drop out of the top 10 this week was Sweden’s Jonatan ‘Pot4teUS’ Hellman who dropped from #10 to #12.
