Fabrizio ‘SixthSenSe19’ Gonzalez must feel like the entire population of Sweden is breathing down his neck (SHRPO photo)

Fabrizio ‘SixthSenSe19’ Gonzalez is still the #1-ranked online poker player in the world but just barely. Gonzalez stayed in the top spot for the third consecutive week but #2-ranked ‘lena900’ closed the gap significantly.

For the second straight week, Gonzalez was unable to find a score big enough to add to his PLB points total. He cashed just three times with his best finishing being a 12th-place result in the Black Chip Poker $200 Sunday Special PLO.

Gonzalez’s overall lead over his nearest threat is just 67.02 after some of his older scores dropped off of his total.

The next four players in the rankings all come from Sweden. ‘lena900‘ continued his grip on the #2 spot even though he had a week with no scores big enough to add to his total.

The same can’t be said for the man in the #3 position. ‘C Darwin2‘ won the partypoker High Roller on February 21 for $10,331 and 208.57 points. The former #1-ranked player is now 443.02 points behind ‘lena900’.

The top three players have really separated themselves from the rest of the field with just 500 points separating #1 from #3. The gap between #3 and #4 is much, much wider.

Inhoo‘ moved up from #5 to #4 after he finished third in the partypoker High Roller on Sunday for $14,875 and 197.99 points. Even with the move up, ‘inhoo’ is 1,857.22 points behind ‘C Darwin2’.

Rounding out the run of Swede’s in the top five is Andreas ‘r4ndomr4gs’ Berggren at #5. Berggren, who was #6 last week, won the PokerStars Hot $215 on February 22 and then rounded out the week with another win, this time in the PokerStars $109 Six Max Hyper Turbo. All told the former #1 added 385.64 points to his total.

Moving into the top 10 was yet another Swedish player. ‘Ariados‘, who was once ranked as high as #2 in the world, moved all the way up to #6 after beating out 1,447 other players in the $109 buy-in PokerStars Sunday Cooldown. The win was worth $22,223 and 380.53 PLB points.

The biggest drop of the week belonged to Bulgarian Alex ‘alexd2’ Dimitrov. Having owned the #4 spot the past seven weeks, Dimitrov fell all the way to #9. Despite cashing 37 times in the last week, not a single one was strong enough to add to his PLB total.

The only player to fall out of the top 10 this week was Russia’s ‘Blackk‘, who dropped from #10 to #11.
