Rankings Update: Bumpy Road[ return to main articles page ]

Apestyles has had an up and down ride through the rankings ever since the system became automated in October of last year. He's back on the upswing now, having moved into the top 20. Among other things, he took down a $50 tournament on Stars and reached the final two tables of the Sunday Million on Stars. This was the second week in a row he had won at least one tournament.

JohnnyBax and mr. menlo each moved up a spot in the top 10 this week, and Andy McLEOD continued inching towards the top 10, ending the week at number 14. Four6suited, Rizen, dlperrio, and busto_soon were a few others in the top 30 who picked up at least a couple spots.

YourTimeIsUp was the PLB winner in March, and his monthly total included a monstrous win in the Full Tilt $400k. His notable finish this past week was a final table in a $50 rebuy on Stars, but he continues to rise as a result of his big wins in the previous couple weeks. He's now sitting at number 48, having risen another 12 spots this week.

Mman_status had a similar gain in the rankings, moving up 10 spots to number 51. His week included a top 20 finish in the Full Tilt $400k, but he is another player riding the wave after a big score. His recent 4th place in the Sunday Million will benefit his PLB total for months to come.

Finally, there was one other player in their vicinity in the rankings who moved up similarly, and that was Asiandude7, who rose 11 spots to number 68. His story is similar to the other two as well, though he did pick up a win in the Tuesday $200 on UB. His rise is still primarily due to a slew of big recent cashes, including a $30k win a couple weeks ago in the Sunday $100 rebuy on Stars, just a couple weeks after he won $45k in their Wednesday $300.

Bond18, soggyvag2, and grafyx were the other players to rise at least ten spots this week. Bond18 took down two tournaments on Full Tilt last week---the $30 rebuy on Sunday and the $100 on Tuesday. Soggy also had a win on Full Tilt in the $150, which was worth $9,282, and he final tabled the Sunday Mulligan. Grafyx moved up in the traditional way, taking down a big tournament. He's currently enjoying that aftermath of a $20k win in the UB Sunday $500, which happened just one day after he finished runner up in their $30 rebuy.

New players in the rankings this week are Joao M. and MattSuspect, who come in at 98 and 100 respectively. Matt had a result that was particularly worth mentioning, and that was a win in the Friday $150 on Stars. It was the second time this year he's won that tournament, and he's also won two $150 tournaments on Full Tilt in the same time span. Look for MattSuspect to continue his rise into the rankings in future weeks.
