Rankings Update: He's Roothlus[ return to main articles page ]

Adam "Roothlus" Levy is back in the top 10 after continuing to put up dazzling results. His $29k win in the PokerStars $100 rebuy on Sunday was only his third biggest cash in the last month! Adam's month of May is looking a lot like April did, meaning that money is rolling in at a high rate.

Apestyles is also on the rise again, moving up three spots to number 15, and right below him, M8kingmoves has made his move into the top 20. His continued upward movement was due largely to a $52k win in the Full Tilt $1k Monday tournament, but he also had two other wins in the week--a Stars $100 and a Full Tilt $30 rebuy. M8kingmoves is playing as well as anyone right now, and he's now the 19th ranked player on PocketFives.com.

Ocrowe was one of the most noticeable movers this week, with his big win being the one everyone knows about--the 4th place in the Sunday Million. He also final tabled a $100 rebuy on Stars en route to a seven spot jump in the rankings to number 23.

Pbdrunks has been mentioned in many a rankings update lately, and this week, he moved up another 6 spots to number 32, following a somewhat slower week than those that have been a part of his amazing recent run in the Sunday majors that's included two Sunday Million final tables, a 2nd place in the UB $200k, and a 2nd place in the Full Tilt $400k. Scarface_79 and CrazyMarco also jumped a few spots in the 30's, each having had good weeks of their own. Scarface's big win was a $27k score in the Stars $100 rebuy, while Marco had four different final tables throughout the week.

Sheets and MattSuspect were the last two big risers in the top 50. MattSuspect is still sliding upwards on the wake of his Sunday million win at the end of April. Sheets, on the other hand, ended April with a 2nd place in the $20 rebuy on Stars and has carried that over into a torrid month of May. As of last week, he'd already picked up a $23k win in the $100 rebuy on Stars and a 6th place in the first FTOPS event, which was worth over $16k. He also took 3rd in the Sunday $500 on UB, and his ranking proceeded to increase by eight spots this week to number 45.

One time Sunday Million winner Ch0ppy, a resident of the increasingly prominent town of Waterloo, took down the biggest $100 rebuy of the week on Stars, which was worth over $36k for first. He's the highest ranked player to make a double-digit jump this week, moving up 11 spots to number 56. He's also been one of the fastest climbing players throughout the last month.

And speaking of fast climbers with big weekend results, three players now ranked in the 70's all had huge weekends that resulted in big boosts in their rankings. Dabears87 took 2nd in the Stars Second Chance tournament for over $25k, and this was just one day after winning the Full Tilt $300 for $14k. He moved up 18 spots to number 74. Himclip85 was one of three to chop the Sunday Million, and he moved up all the way from 93rd to 76th in the rankings. SirWatts took 2nd in the FTOPS PL Omaha event on Saturday, and amazingly, he won the Stars $100 rebuy the same day. Those two wins combined for nearly $60k and helped propell SirWatts from the 100th ranking to number 79.

Stpauli111 and Dyzalot also made big moves, each gaining more than 10 spots and finishing in the top 85. Stpauli was the runner up to M8kingmoves in the Full Tilt $1k event and also took 5th in the Wednesday $300 on Stars. Dyzalot, who recently won the Triple Crown, took 2nd place in the UB $200k for $27,000.

JOEYTHEB and gotcha55 both entered the rankings this week at spots 86 and 93 respectively, but neither is new to poker fame. JOEYTHEB has been a top online player for years, achieving a top 20 ranking at times on this site. A win and third place finish in the $100 rebuy helped get him in at such a high spot, and this week, he's already won another $100 rebuy. I'd expect to hear more of the same about him in this update next week. Aaron "gotcha55" Kanter is known by many for his final table in the WSOP Main Event in 2005, and he's been doing more of the same online. Last week, he had his biggest online win, taking down the first event of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series.

The last two newcomers in this week's rankings are intervention and DSnyder766. Dsynder has been bouncing around this part of the rankings for a while, but this is intervention's first time in the top 100. He looks to move up quickly, as his recent wins include the Stars $100 rebuy (twice this month already!) and the Full Tilt $1k. He already has six 5-figure scores in 2007, including four in April and May.
