This week the rankings have remained somewhat constant. However, this doesn't mean that there haven't been any significant changes. On the contrary, a well known player jumped up 4 spots this week, pushing his way into the top ten. We all know or at least have an idea of how truly hard this is to do, especially on a world wide scale. Nonetheless, mr. menlo (pictured right) has done just that and is our new number 7 for this week. <READMORE>

After about two weeks without a major score, mr. menlo has come back full-steam ahead. He continues to show us his ability to dominate large field big buy-in tournaments. Check this. Four days ago he took 1st place in the $750k Guaranteed on Full Tilt for $132,788. Only two days later, he got 2nd in the PokerStars Super Tuesday ($1050 buy-in) for $50,801. This adds up to a week that most can only dream about. For mr. menlo though, the $180k+ is very real and so is his #7 spot in the world wide rankings.

Players making moves in the top 20 include some familiar faces: mig.com, ComeOnPhish, and CrazyMarco (pictured left, is NoraFlum on Stars). Triple Crown winner mig.com is still riding high after a monstrous score worth over $580k in the WCOOP. His hard work has him up another 6 spots this week, and he is currently number 14. ComeOnPhish also continued to climb, improving 3 spots and cracking the top 20. He is now 19th. Lastly, CrazyMarco burst into the top 20 moving up by 3 places. He has been on a mission lately and completely destroyed September with over $100k in cashes. Hopefully October will bring similar results for this talented player.

In the top 50, more well-known poker players have had their dedication pay off. The first is moorman1 (pictured right). During the past week, he went deep in the $150k Guarantee on AbsolutePoker and also made 3 final tables. He took 3rd in the FT $55k Guaranteed and 1st in the FT Fifty-Fifty for $9,555. On PartyPoker, he got 7th in the $20k Guaranteed. This has earned him the 31st spot in the rankings, which is 5 better than last week.

The next player attracting attention in the top 50 is GBecks, who improved by 6 and is now ranked 35th. He has cashed for over 14k already in October, 7k of which came last week largely through a 2nd place finish in the PokerStars $25k Guaranteed. Also moving up is scarface_79. He improved by 5 and now sits at 39th.

The last three making an impact in the top 50 are Kenny Rap (pictured left), JCarver (Taknapotin on Stars), and Elmasmacho. Kenny_Rap has rocketed up 10 spots from last week, and deservedly so with 3 respectable scores. On FT, he took 5th in the $65k Guarantee (re-buy) for $5,406. On PokerStars, he had a 1st place finish in the $55 Rebuy for $12,240, and finally he went deep in the Sunday Warm-Up on Stars, capturing 7th place and almost $10k.

JCarver is a player who has been getting more recognition lately, especially after his 1st place finish in the FT $1M Guaranteed last month. As a result, he has been climbing the rankings, and this week is no exception as he moved up 8 spots and into the top 50 for the first time. He is now 47th. Elmasmacho, who is also a newcomer to the top 50, has been quietly accumulating huge scores, including one on PokerStars for $116,208 at the very end of last month. On top of that, his other scores for September total even more than his $116,208 score! Consequently, he has been getting more respect in the rankings and is now 49th.

In the latter half of the top 100, we have 7 players moving up, starting with jpapola who rose 19 positions into 67th. In October, he already has over $25k in cashes, including 1st and 2nd place finishes on FullTilt on the same day. One was for $14,506, and the other was $7,200. The next player making some waves is Bond18 (pictured right). He finally made his way into the top 100, advancing by a mind-blowing 30 positions. He now occupies the 71st spot and should continue to rise as his PLB ranking is 45th.

Moving up 10 positions from last week is eisenhower1. This Swede is off to a fast start this month with a 4th place finish in a Stars $109 Rebuy for over $5k and a 2nd place finish in the PartyPoker $50k Guaranteed Saturday for $9,860. He is now ranked 80th.

Last week I said I wasn't sure who the hell WhoTheHell was. Well, no more. I found out he had five 5-figure scores in Oct. 2006 alone, including a chop in the Stars Sunday Million. This week he moved up 16 positions and is now in 83rd. WhoTheHell has secured over $36k in scores during the first 10 days of October, and is quickly making a name for himself. Of the $36k, almost $25k came from a 2nd place finish in the Stars Wednesday Hundred and Fifty Grand.

Player lyerly didn't take much time off after his WCOOP win for over $76k as he has 6 more final tables since the start of October. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place finishes just in the first few days of the month have earned him over $17k and the 92nd spot in the rankings.

Rounding out the top 100 are TonyG_ (wwwBTHEREcom on Stars) and shaundeeb. Both these players have been cashing consistently for some time now, and it has paid off as they made it into the rankings this week. TonyG_ has had some huge scores the past two months, totaling over $100k. Shaundeeb who is known for his high volume play has had several cashes this past week including a 1st place finish in the FT $30k Guaranteed for $7,200.
