Yevgeniy “atimos” Timoshenko (pictured right) has been tenaciously holding down the third spot in our World Wide Rankings for some time now. This week, the PLB winner for the month of November has stepped it up a notch to 2nd place overall. The Pros have spoken and placed atimos at the second spot. His win in the Stars $300 gave him almost $20k, and a recent 2nd place in their $100 buy in for $8k also helped in his resurgence. A few months ago this top player showed he can dominate in live play as well, atimos conquered the competition over seas in the 2007 Paddy Power Irish Open’ Thousand Euro No Limit Hold’em for over $166k. <READMORE>Also taking a step up the ladder, Chad “M8kingmoves” Batista moves up into the top 5 this week. Batista still has a monster lead in the monthly rankings and above all in the Sliding Leaderboard. Last week he took down yet another $100 Rebuy on Stars for $30k, while also placing 8th the same day on their Super Tuesday for $8k. This month he has already managed to cash for $380k on Stars and FullTilt alone.
Another top 10 player moving up a spot this week is Jon “PearlJammer” Turner (pictured right). Turner won the Bodog $100k Guaranteed last week for $25k and took 2nd place in a Stars $20 Rebuy for another $4k the day before. Turner final tabled five times last week and cashed for a total of $40k. The P5s Triple Crown winner now has the 8th highest yearly PLB score for 2007, which is 5592 points. Turner also sits in the 8th position on our Sliding Leaderboard.Outside the top 10, Danny “THE__D__RY” Ryan and Gary “GB2005” Bogdanski each moved up three places this week and now rank 12th and 15th respectively. Ryan had a great turnout both Friday and Sunday when he took down the Stars $20k Guaranteed and then placed 2nd in the FullTilt $500k Guaranteed for over $75k. Triple Crown winner GB2005 saw six final tables last week including a 2nd place in the Stars $100 Rebuy and a 1st in a $20 Rebuy a combined $26k. GB2005 has been putting up good numbers this month and presently sits 8th on the July Leaderboard. Moving up two spots in the top 20, intervention now takes the 18th spot with help from his 2nd place in a Stars $100 Rebuy for over $23k.
Aaron “gotcha55” Kanter (pictured left), PLB champion for the month of May, made his way to 20th in the rankings this week by moving up seven spots. Kanter had two wins last week totaling $19k, which came in a Stars $100 Rebuy and a $10k Guaranteed Short Stack on Absolute. Now occupying the 24th rank is dabears87, who had four final tables last week. Tuesday was his best day, as he cashed four times and finished 3rd in a Stars $100 Rebuy for over $8k. Another Triple Crown winner moving up this week was matt1983, who climbed to 26th from 31st. Matt’s 2nd place showing in the Full Tilt $1k Monday was worth over $47k.
Picking up nine, ten, and eleven spots this week were rdcrsn, aaronbeen (pictured right), and soggyvag2. Making the biggest hop of all Triple Crowners, rdcrsn defeated the competition in a Stars Nightly Hundred Grand for over 33k and finished off the week with a win in a Full Tilt $16k Guarantee Rebuy. Aaron Been made his way to three final tables and took 2nd in the Stars Nightly Hundred Grand the day after rdcrsn won it, and that was worth $19k. He also had a 2nd in an Ultimate Bet $25k Guaranteed Bounty for another $4.5k. Soggyvag2 is still reaping the benefits of his win two weeks ago in the Ultimate Bet $200k Guaranteed, and he added to that success last week with a 3rd place in the Full Tilt Fifty-Fifty for $4.5k and a $3.5k cash in their $1k Monday the same day.Xuan “x2then” Nguyen moves up another seven this week into the top 50, resting at the 48th ranking. Nguyen cashed six times last week with two final tables coming on Stars and Full Tilt. Djk123, after being ranked for the first time a few weeks ago, has continued to maneuver through the rankings and succeeded to take 2nd place last week in a Stars $100 Rebuy for over $14k, helping him move up to the 61st position in our World Wide Rankings. BKiCe gained 12 spots this week with seven cashes and a win in a Full Tilt $55k Guaranteed. Wednesday was his most profitable day, as he saw three final tables and cashed for a total of around $24k.
Chipsteela, THEDONATOR (pictured left), JayPez, and A_Junglen each moved up at least 16 positions this week. Chipsteela’s nine cashes last week included five final tables and two wins; one in an Absolute $13k Guaranteed and another in a Stars $15k Guaranteed. THEDONATOR donated $9.5k to himself with his 1st place finish in the Full Tilt Fifty-Fifty last Saturday. JayPez successfully made four final tables last week playing mostly on the $50 and $100 buy ins and cashed close to $6k in his play during last week’s Sunday Million. Fresh off his Sunday Million win, A_Junglen played his way to 2nd place in the Full Tilt $32k Guaranteed and made it to the money in last Sunday’s Stars Million.
Six PocketFives members have made their way into the top 100 this week, starting with timkrank who came in leaping 13 spots with a win in a Stars $100 Rebuy for over $22k last week, which was a good follow up to another of his wins in one the week before for over $36k. Arabianight came in two spots behind timkrank this week with two final table finishes in the Stars $100 Rebuy for $9k. AK87 (pictured right) has recently achieved a great deal as well in the Stars $100 Rebuy, with three final tables cashes for over $25k.Winning a Stars Nightly Hundred Grand and a Full Tilt $55k Guaranteed has boosted scam8 into the 95th position this week, and brynkenneyps1’s win in the Full Tilt $55k Guaranteed provided for a ticket to the p5s top 100 as well. Last but not least, jimmie23 now breathes the same air as the rest of the top 100. Since his 5th place final table in the Sunday Million on July 1st, he has cashed nine other times and continues his play in the major tournaments on Stars, Full Tilt, and Ultimate Bet.
