Scott Palmer is a relatively unknown poker player in the live tournament circuit. In 2014, Palmer found himself sitting in third place with 79 players left to start Day 6 of the World Series of Poker Main Event. He cruised to a 19th place finish for $286,000.

Palmer is from Odenton, Maryland and has recorded almost $34,000 in live tournament cashes according to The Hendon Mob. His biggest cash came in the EPT Main Event in London in 2010, when he finished in 31st place for almost $30,000.

Palmer is better known on the online felts where he played as URnotINdanger2 at Full Tilt Poker. He is also known to be a video game aficionado, enjoying games such as “StarCraft” before and after Black Friday occurred.

One of the key hands in Palmer’s 2014 Main Event run was on Day 5 against Samuel Wasserman with the blinds at 12,000/24,000. The action started innocently enough with Palmer raising the action pre-flop to 50,000 in chips with 7d-6d. Wasserman 3bet with Jh-Jd to 125,000 in chips and Palmer called.

Palmer hit his dream flop when the board came 4h-5h-3s. Palmer disguised his hand by checking the flop and Wasserman checked back, setting up one of the bigger coolers of the day when the Js hit the turn, giving Wasserman top set. Palmer wanted to make sure he got value out of his hand and bet 200,000 in chips. Wasserman went into the tank before raising the action to 550,000. Palmer then went into the tank before announcing he was all-in. Wasserman instantly called, thinking his top set had to be good, and shipped a huge pot to Palmer when the 8d on the river failed to improve his hand.

Later on Day 5, Palmer saw his stack approach almost 6 million in chips when he battled it out with Mikoyo Aoki, the second-to-last female standing. While we are not certain what either player had, there was tons of action on a 9c-8h-3c-Ks-2s board. Palmer moved all-in on the river after Aoki’s 400,000 bet, which Aoki ultimately folded, shipping Palmer one of the bigger hands of the day.
