The title of this article was inspired by the title of a thread in the Poker Community forumtalking about the sick Sunday of Pablo gordiju Gordillo (pictured), who won the PokerStars Sunday Kickoff for $26,000, the PokerStars Bigger $55 for $44,000, and the PokerStars Sunday Storm for $30,000. The three tournaments had almost 43,000 entrants combined and the fact that he won all of them on the same day over the weekend is quite impressive.

UK PocketFiver JDougcommented in the thread, “Pretty sick Sunday alright, especially shipping the Storm to put the cherry on the cake.” JDoug reminded us, however, that in 2012, stpauli111took down the $215 Sunday Supersonic for $42,000, the Bigger $162 for $41,000, the $55 Rebuy for $24,000 and the $215 Rebuy for $23,000, all on the same day. Evaluating the two players, JDoug assessed, “Has to be pretty close, although it’s hard to ignore the fact that gordiju made it through a field of 36,000 to win the Storm.” Read about stpauli111’s Sunday.

Canada PocketFives member WhatWasThat joked, “Only 350,000,000,000: 1 odds is what I read… Didn’t do the math personally. So friggin sick.”

Among other poker news sites reporting on Gordillo’s spectacular Sunday was PokerStrategy, where one player who was seated alongside the winner recalled, “I was sitting with him in the Sunday Storm and he had position on me right after. Very tight, but I believe he just hadn’t had cards to play for two hours. I left in 67th place. Meanwhile, he went slowly blinded down to few blinds, but then climbed to the top 20 in a couple of hands. Sick run.”
