With the kickoff of the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event now only a couple weeks away, the major online poker sites are breaking out all the stops to send players to fabulous Las Vegas. Full Tilt Poker is once again offering its players a tournament with the opportunity to capture one of at least 100 seats into the Main Event. PokerStars, meanwhile, is also repeating last year's guarantee, and they will be giving away a minimum of 150 seats to the biggest event in poker. At 6:00 p.m. on Sunday June 17th, one $535 tournament on Full Tilt provides access to 100 guaranteed seats into the WSOP Main Event. If that weren’t enough, if you win your seat on Full Tilt Poker and then win the entire Main Event, Full Tilt will give you an extra $10 million. Take second or third and Full Tilt will give you $100,000. Make the final table and you’ll receive $50,000. There are a bevy of satellites available into the 100 Seat Main Event Guarantee for as low as $4.40 or 50 Full Tilt Points. You can find more information by checking out Full Tilt Poker.
The PokerStars 150 Seat Guaranteed costs $370 to play and is likely to award well over 150 seats. Last year, 234 winners came out of this enormous satellite. As is the case with any big tourney on Stars, satellites are running day and night in a variety of formats. There are double shootouts, 5-player sats, 10-player sats, 20-player sats, and a number of different multi-table satellites for the event. PokerStars is even running $2.20 triple shootouts to the event!
PocketFives Chief Editor Adam Small comments on these satellite opportunities: “Last year, a lot of P5ers were able to capitalize on the huge qualifiers on Full Tilt and Stars, which both took place about 10 days before the main event. Longtime P5er Cmitch actually finished 9th in the Full Tilt qualifier and got an extra hotel room for doing so. When it’s down to the last minute and you don’t have a WSOP seat yet, these tournaments are the best chance anyone has to get to go and participate in something special.”
Check out the 100 and 150 Seat Guarantees on Sunday, June 17th on Full Tilt and PokerStars. With 250 seats on the line, why not take a shot?
