While many Americans were noshing on turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing last week during the Thanksgiving holiday, one Swedish online poker player continued building his reputation on the virtual felts. Isildur1 battled Brian Townsend in an 88-minute long session that saw the Swede drop $1.1 million. The 1,018 hand battle was spread across four tables of $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha and took place during the early morning hours of November 25th. One day later, Isildur1 righted the ship, earning back $832,000.

In one hand against Townsend, Isildur1 was dealt 6 9 7 5. He raised to $1,200 preflop and Townsend came over the top for $3,600 holding J A A 7. Isildur1 cranked it to $10,800, Townsend made the price of poker $32,400, and Isildur1 called. The flop came T 8 9, giving Townsend a jack-high straight against the Swede’s ten-high straight. Townsend checked, Isildur1 fired out a pot-sized bet of $64,800, Townsend made it $259,200, and Isildur1 called all-in for his last $119,000. The board ran out 3 A, shipping the massive $304,000 pot to the CardRunners instructor. The $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha hand was one of the largest pots we’ve seen in recent days.

In another hand between Isildur1 and Townsend, the latter raised to $1,200 preflop holding 9 A Q 7 and Isildur1 made it $3,600 with 9 A 3 A. Townsend bumped it to $10,800 and Isildur1 continued the raising action by making it $32,400. Townsend immediately shoved for $44,200 and Isildur1 made the call. The flop came 7 Q 3, giving Townsend two pair and Isildur1 a pair of aces. The turn was the 9, improving Townsend to queens and nines, and the river was a harmless 2. Townsend raked in over $88,000 and ended the short session with a healthy $1.1 million bankroll boost.

After the encounter, PocketFives.com member jcpeace posted the following chat excerpt from Full Tilt Poker:

Brian Townsend: gg
Brian Townsend: I will be back in a few days
Isildur1: k n1
Isildur1: f u
Brian Townsend: don't be bitter because you lost
Isildur1: lol

The next day, Isildur1 squared off against Tom "durrrr" Dwan at a $500/$1,000 Pot Limit Omaha table. Preflop, Isildur1 made it $3,000 with A A 2 6 and Dwan made the call with unknown cards. The flop came 3 T 5 and Isildur1 bet out $6,000 after a check from Dwan. The Full Tilt Poker pro called to see the K hit on the turn. Dwan checked, Isildur1 bet $18,000, and Dwan called. The river was a 3, giving Isildur1 aces-up, and he put in a pot-sized bet of $54,000. Dwan gingerly called, sending the $162,000 pot to Isildur1. Another hand saw Isildur1 snag a $433,000 pot off Patrik Antonius with a straight against Antonius’ set.

As of Saturday night, Isildur1 owns $2.5 million in earnings in pots tracked by PokerTableRatings.com and has gained $5.3 million at the expense of Dwan alone over 41,000 hands. CardRunners instructor Cole South has donated $707,000 to Isildur1, good for the second most overall in the online poker industry. Isildur1, meanwhile, has dropped $2.9 million to 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) November Nine member Phil Ivey and another $1.1 million to Townsend. Power Poker front man Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies and Antonius are the only other two players who have earned more than $500,000 off Isildur1.
