Tournament Review for 3-24-2006 through 3-26-2006[ return to main articles page ]

DelaReine kicked off the weekend with a big win, taking 2nd place money in a chop of the Friday Special on PartyPoker, which was about $21k! It turned out to be the beginning of a big weekend for P5ers and other noteable players. Worldsgrtest took 9th in the $200k there the next night, and Anakinso finished 3rd in the Sunday $750k guaranteed.

Shaniac had one of the biggest weekends of anyone in the majors. He finished 2nd in the $200k guaranteed on Full Tilt, which was worth about $30k, and then he had another 2nd place finish in the PokerStars $200, worth another $15k!

AawwNutz had yet another nice finish in the $150k guaranteed on Paradise, this time taking fourth place in the event. On Bodog, Adanthar took 3rd in the $100k guaranteed.

PokerStars had their first quarterly $1000+50 tournament on Sunday, and the results were as exciting as anyone could have hoped, with their posterboy, Greg "FossilMan" Raymer coming in 2nd and winning nearly $200k. Hoss_TBF was another noteable at the final table, and he took 4th. There was no chop in this tourney, which is rare for the big one on Stars, and as such, the tournament was really exciting all the way to the end.

ActionJeff took down the $100k guaranteed on UltimateBet, playing as GiantSteps. stevesbets, AaronBeen, and muddywater were all at the final table as well, each placing in the top 6.

Later in the evening, shattus finished in 2nd in the $125k on UltimateBet. Mindwise and KRISTEN finished 9th and 10th in the tournament. isuck123, Rizen, and TheDonator took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place respectively in the Empire Poker $200k guaranteed rebuy. Rizen won this tournament the last time it was played.
