Tournament Review for April 20, 2015
The biggest cash by any PocketFiver over the weekend came in the PokerStarsSunday 500, when in the wee hours of the morning it was Canada’s Lockhurt beating out a 786 player field to win $70,740. At one point, it appeared Lockhurt was going to have to settle for second place after a hand left him with about four big blinds heads-up before making a comeback to win the tournament.
In total, six PocketFivers were featured at the final table including Austria’s Schildy1984, Canada’s Pascal Pass_72Lefrancois, Elliott elliotpetPeterson, American poker refugee Jonathan FieryJusticeLittle, and Canada’s hopezACE.
This weekend also commemorated the fourth anniversary of the Sunday Storm, with the online poker room bumping the guaranteed from its usual $300,000 to $1 million. Bulgaria’s Georgi dscturrr Nikolov hit big in this tournament, winning $56,616.24 for taking second place after a five-way deal.
Over on 888 Poker, it was Chile’s Nicolas PokerKaiserFierro winning the $100,000 Mega Deep for $35,658. Fierro is currently ranked #1 in the PocketFives Rankings and has won this tournament twice in a one-month span after previously winning it on March 22 for $32,550.
In other news, American poker refugee Grayson gray31Ramage appeared at two major final tables over the weekend. Ramage took third in the Full Tilt Sunday Major for $21,010.96 and finished ninth in the PokerStars Sunday Rebuy for $4,039.
