Tournament Review for September 22, 2014
The 2014 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) continued this weekend ahead of next Sunday’s $10,000,000 Guaranteed Main Event. PocketFiver KKrematetook home $356,965 for his runner-up performance in the WCOOP $2,000+100 NLHE Event #45. Jose gotocashierQuintas of Portugal (pictured, ranked #449) had a 3rd place showing in that event and received $269,545 while 135th ranked KungKroon of Sweden finished 4th for $198,152.
Joao Paulo joaosimaobhSimao of Brazil and Costa Rica’s DaFaceearned $142,786 and $113,646 for their respective 5th and 6th place finishes, and Canadian Mutha Flushaa was awarded $55,366 for 8th place in that event.
Three PocketFivers achieved six-figure online tournament cashes in the Stars Sunday Warm-Up Special Edition, led by Poland’s gregor7878(ranked #466 worldwide), who won the event for $186,964 following a four-way final table chop. BenFazof the United Kingdom placed 3rd for $164,213 and GadMO of Israel finished 4th for $130,864.
In the Stars Sunday 500, 95th-ranked hittheholeof the United Kingdom had a 3rd place showing for $50,730 as Zimmy finished 4th for $37,166.
The Full Tilt Pokerwas won outright by 82nd ranked C Darwin2of Sweden for $31,570. Meanwhile, Diego_1901 of Peru finished runner-up in the Sunday Major for a payday of $30,876.
