Tournament Review For October 7, 2013
PocketFivers were successful in a number of big tournaments on PokerStars over the weekend; taking three of the top five spots in the Sunday Million flagship event – led byTyRusTof Belarus, who negotiated his way to the top payday of $139,121 in the tournament despite finishing in 3rd place overall (five-way deal). RobertrunninggreatCheung was the eventual victor in the Sunday Million – cashing for $127,340 – while OlomouckyDesmoKraj of the Czech Republic also got in on the final table chop with a six-figure take home amount of $101,559 for 5th place.Polecatriderwas eliminated in 6th place for $43,738.
Anton VnilaVaderHermann of Sweden (pictured – ranked #52 worldwide) made a case for making his way back into the Top 10 Worldwide Rankings with a victory in the Stars Sunday Warm-Up for $93,795. He reached a heads-up deal with fellow member Davydenko123of Lithuania who received $83,045 for 2nd place. Russian Federation online poker tournament specialist gribnogribfinished 3rd in that event for $53,246. In the Stars Sunday 500, Iwantbearich (also from the Russian Federation) had a runner-up performance for $53,915 while Brazilian Iwantbearich claimed an outright win in the $100 Sunday Rebuy for $49,425.
TheFull Tilt PokerSunday Brawl was won outright by longtime PocketFives member Brandonnorajean Meyers for $44,600 upon outlasting more than 1,100 total entrants.
