For the talented players who have already won a PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker title at some point in their career, the first six days of the 2016 SCOOP have to give them reason to remain optimistic. Previous winners are doing well this year and Thursday’s action was no different.

Germany’s ’Ssick_One’ won his second SCOOP title in two years, taking down one of the three Six Max shootouts on the schedule Thursday. ’Ssick_One’ won Event #12 (M): $215 No Limit Hold’em Six Max Shootout, beating out a 1,075-player field to win $34,400. The German poker pro was once ranked in the top ten of the PocketFives Rankings.

Nick ‘chilenocl’ Yunis, who already has a TCOOP title from 2015, added a SCOOP title to his resume Thursday. Yunis won Event #12 (H), the $2,100 buy-in NLHE Six Max Shootout event. He beat Matt ‘OLD TIME GIN’ Stone heads up to walk away with the $95,040 winner’s share.

While previous winners are doing well, it’s hard to ignore the amazing performance being put on by Brazilian players this year. Guilherme ’GhRibeiro’ Ribeiro became the latest Brazilian poker player to win a SCOOP title this year. Ribeiro beat out 3,353 players to win Event #12(L) and the $13,176.26 that came with it.

Just a few hours later, another Brazilian found his way into the winner’s circle. Thiago ‘tgrigoletti ‘Grigoletti beat ‘maoosalazar’ heads up to win Event #13 (H): $700 No Limit Hold’em Hyper-Turbo, Progressive Super KO. Grigoletti’s win was the eighth SCOOP title won by a Brazilian player this year.

Jason ‘jcarverpoker’ Somerville finished ninth in that event.

Argentina’s ‘pintoelbajon’ earned his first SCOOP title with a victory in Event #13 (M): $82 No Limit Hold’em Hyper-Turbo, Progressive Super KO. He took home over $50,000 in winnings, including bounties, for his efforts.
