It's that time again. PocketFives is happy to announce the details of our June league on HogWild Poker, a free, U.S.-friendly online poker room. The league is exclusive to members of PocketFives and the games will once again take place on Tuesdays at 9:00pm Eastern Time. The first game will be held on Tuesday, June 5, with others set for June 12, June 19, and June 26. Register now.Plus, we can officially say that the PocketFives Open will return to HogWild Poker for another special U.S.-facing edition on Thursday, June 21. The Open is completely separate from the main PocketFives HogWild Poker League, has no buy-in, and will give away an electronic item to its winner.
Anyone in the PocketFives community, including U.S. players, can enter the PocketFives Open. We'll also be adding goodies like PocketFives gear and PocketFives Training to the prize pool. We last ran the PocketFives Open on HogWild Poker in March and had a huge turnout. It's a way for HogWild Poker and PocketFives to give back to our U.S. customers who have remained patient over the last year while the situation in the U.S. sorts itself out.Okay, back to the June PocketFives League. The setup and payouts will be exactly the same as they were in May. Each game takes place on Tuesday night and is free to play. You'll get points based on your finish in each league game and when all is said and done, the top ten on the overall leaderboard will receive prizes as follows:
1st Place: $150 cash
2nd Place: $50 cash + PocketFives t-shirt
3rd Place: $30 cash + PocketFives t-shirt
4th Place: $20 cash + PocketFives t-shirt
5th Place: 25,000 Hog Bucks
6th Place: 25,000 Hog Bucks
7th Place: 25,000 Hog Bucks
8th Place: 25,000 Hog Bucks
9th Place: 25,000 Hog Bucks
10th Place: 25,000 Hog Bucks
If you've never heard of HogWild Poker before, its core promotion is the monthly Staking Series, which awards 15 players with $500 in live buy-ins to various casinos. So, if you want to enter a $500 buy-in tournament at your hometown casino, you're more than welcome to. If you want to take a trip to Las Vegas and use your staking money there, then go for it.To get started, register for games in the HogWild Staking Series. Play in eight or more of them each month, as HogWild Poker only counts your best eight scores. Your finishes will help you get onto the $500 Staking Series leaderboard. Every Sunday and Wednesday night Staking Series game takes the form of a $400 freeroll, which could help you put a little extra cash in your pocket along the way.
By the way, the five top players in the PocketFives League, and every qualifying league on HogWild Poker, are entered into a monthly Top Hog freeroll, which has a prize pool of $500. Both individual and team performances are rewarded in the freeroll, with the first place team winning $100 and the top finishing person also getting $100. All money is paid out via PayPal or check.
