Sunday was a big day for eighth-ranked veeea(pictured), who won the PokerStars Sunday Millionand Bigger $109 outright for a combined $225,000. Yes, he won both high-profile tournaments on the same day. He added 1,500 PLB Points to his coffers as a result, which could vault him into the #1 spot worldwide in the PocketFives Online Poker Rankings when they are recalculated on Wednesday.

Let’s start with the Sunday Million, which drew nearly 6,000 entrants and had a prize pool that nearly passed $1.2 million. veeea earned $183,000 for his outright win and was one of five PocketFivers to land in the top seven spots. Members of our online poker community scooped half of the prize pool.

The Sunday Million score was veeea’s largest online, passing a $112,000 cash that came after winning the Super Tuesday two years ago. Not surprisingly, veeea had the largest single payday over the weekend on PokerStars by a factor of more than two.

veeea began heads-up play in the Sunday Million against HU4FU roughly even in chips, but needed just 10 hands to move ahead by a 5:1 margin. On the final hand, veeea’s K-8 held against Q-9 and he captured the Sunday Million title.

Also on Sunday, veeea won the PokerStars Bigger $109 outright and earned another $40,000. The tournament drew more than 2,500 entrants and had a prize pool of a quarter of a million dollars. He was one of two PocketFivers to make the final table and helped our community rake 35% of the prize pool. The Bigger $109 victory was veeea’s seventh largest cash all-time.

veeea is up to 220 tracked wins in online MTTs and $4.5 million in lifetime winnings. He is approaching 4,000 in the money finishes and is averaging $1,144 each. In addition to the Sunday Million and Bigger $109, he has won SCOOPand WCOOPtitles, as well as an FTOPS jersey, just to name a few scores.
