Lauck amassed a huge 4,099.12 leaderboard points with over three-quarters of this total coming with a win in the 2016 PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker Main Event, which earned him $1,101,278.90 and 3,170.63 leaderboard points.

To put this into perspective, Bulgaria’s Alex ‘alexd2’ Dimitrov dominated the August Points Leaderboard with 3,016.82 points, or over 100 points less than Lauck notched with one big victory.

Outside of the WCOOP Main Event, Lauck’s ascension to the top spot on the monthly leaderboard mostly came through a number of small cashes that added up to 927.49 points. His next biggest scores came on September 4 when he took eighth place in the PokerStars Big $109, $125K Guaranteed for $3,206.53 and 138.08 points, followed by a runner-up performance in the PokerStars.fr Night on Stars – €100, €20,000 Guaranteed on September 14 for $4,699.36 and 122.46 points.

Lauck now resides in 46th place in the PocketFives Worldwide Rankings, slightly down from his high point of 39th place which came the Wednesday after he won the WCOOP Main Event. His big win also propelled him in a huge way in the rankings as he began the month in 1,019th place and the week before his win was in 734th place.

Meanwhile, Chile’s Fierro came very close in winning his sixth monthly leaderboard title with 3,989.42 leaderboard points. He previously won the leaderboard in April 2010, September 2014, April 2015, June 2015, and August 2015.

Fierro didn’t walk away empty handed as his bankroll grew in a big way with a win in the Winning Poker Network OSS #72 – Million Dollar Sunday to haul in $211,060 and 1,028.59 points.

Uruguay’s Gonzalez finished just behind Fierro in third place on the leaderboard with an impressive 3,948.84 points thanks to a strong month which propelled him to the number one spot in the PocketFives Worldwide Rankings.

Gonzalez’s huge month was highlighted by six tournament victories including shipping his fourth WCOOP title which came when he took down WCOOP Event #43 – $1,050 Triple Draw 2-7 Championship for $30,981.06 and 379.47 points on Sept. 16.
