Weekday Tournament Review for March 20, 2011[ return to main articles page ]

PocketFives.com members had several large scores across the major sites this week. On Monday Full Tilt Poker hosted the $1K Monday Million, which is a $1,060 buy-in multi-entry tournament that attracted a total of 1,126 entrants. United Kingdom player hitthehole (pictured), who is ranked #110 worldwide, captured his largest online score of $160.4k after finishing runner-up to player "asforr" who received $253k for his win. Aleh cooltwister Plauski (ranked #72) also captured his largest cash by finishing 3rd for $118k. Carter cswidler Swidler also pocket his largest score of $92.8k for fourth place, followed by Triple Crown winner JoeBlazenyc in 5th for $70,300. Other finishes include IWEARGOGGLES (7th for $33.7k),CrazyZachary (8th for $25.3k) and shipitthisway (9th for $18k).


PokerStars held it's $100 rebuy 6max event on Monday which drew a field of 246 players. David Blue Knight4 Sesso of California had a 2nd place finish good for $14,500. In September 2009, Sesso won Event #60 of WCOOP ($215 NLHE) for $326,400. New York player jus2awsum finished 4th this week for $7.2k while chimpoo14 (ranked #63) placed 6th for $3,700.

In Monday's Nightly Hundred Grand on PokerStars, viniciustele had a 2nd place finish for $21.1k, followed by reelhugefish in 3rd for $15,800. Danny SilkysNuts Silk earned $8.2k for placing 5th, while Jeffreg took 6th for $6,500. Other finishes include bda125 in 7th for $4.8k and gray31 in 9th for $1,900.

Tuesday's Nightly Hundred Grand event on PokerStars had three P5s members at its final table. Triple Crown winner Nickdawgg was eliminated in 4th place, earning him $9.7k for his efforts. New Zealand's horus7 was close behind in 5th for $6.8k, while dmon2323 placed 8th for $2,800.

Tuesday's $100 rebuy on PokerStars had 218 entrants and six P5s members at the final table. After a back and forth heads-up match, raza14 and his opponent "LosChief" agreed upon an even chop of $14.3k a piece. IWEARGOGGLES walked away with just over $9k for placing third, followed by rounder63 in 4th for $6.7k. Other final table finishes include scnoodle (5th for $4.6k), krasark (7th for $3k) and ryanbluf (9th for $1.5k).

The Super Tuesday saw six community members deep this week. This is a $1,050 buy-in tournament and 75th ranked player Nicolas PokerKaiser Fierro (pictured) had a runner-up finish for $58,100. Renato leguito Almeida of Portugal earned $44.1k for 3rd, followed by raza14 in 4th for $33k in his second final table of the night. Flush_Entity finished in 5th place for $22.8k, followed by hoodini10 in 7th for $13.6k and Cre8ive in 9th for $7,000.

Wednesday's $100 rebuy 6max had 281 entrants and was won by Nick agriffrod Mitchell (ranked #34) for $25,000. BleedBlue33, who is approaching the top 100 rankings at #105, added another $13k score to his name after finishing third. Triple Crown winner setherson2 placed 4th for $9k and rkruok was eliminated in 5th for $6,800.

The Quarter Million on PokerStars had 982 entrants this week and a final table of four community members, led by Toby 810ofclubs Lewis, who had a 4th place finish for $21,300. Bosnia's brin1285 earned $11.9k for placing 6th, followed by comandr_cool in 7th ($8.9k) and pokerjoe9 in 8th ($6k).

P5ers filled 3 seats at this week's final table of the $100k Guarantee on Full Tilt Poker. This is a $100 rebuy 6-max event and was won by two-time Triple Crown winner Gags30 for $38.2k after besting mikefloss (2nd for $25.2k) in heads-up play. Big Huni also made a deep run and finished in 5th place for $9,500.

Seven community members were seen deep in the $150k Guaranteed on UB.com. This is a $1,050 buy-in tournament and was eventually won outright by whitE_mAmbA (ranked #28) for $49k after outlasting 58th ranked player scnoodle (2nd for $29.6k). Costa Rica's improved earned $21.7k for third, followed by probirs in 4th for $17.5k and nieezz in 6th for $13,400. Other finishes include huskerpro11 (6th for $11.1k) and herdgolf86 (7th for $8.7k).

UB.com also held its Sniper $80k Guarantee ($200+15) on Wednesday, which had a field of 448 players. Pictured player Russell rdcrsn Carson (ranked #30) had a 3rd place finish in this event for $8.2k, followed by 810ofclubs in 4th for $5.6k and Duff McGuire in 6th place for just over $4,000.
