The day many poker players around the world look forward to has finally come. The 2015 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event kicks off the first of its three opening day flights today at 12:00 PST. The remaining two opening flights will begin at the same time on Monday, July 6 and Tuesday, July 7.

This year marks the 46th year of the main event, with players from at least 85 different countries likely to participate according to WSOP.com. Organizers estimate that the prize pool will exceed $60 million with first place grabbing at least $8 million alone.

In last year’s WSOP Main Event, it was Sweden’s Martin Jacobson (pictured) navigated through a field of 6,683 players to win $10 million and etch his name in the poker history books. Here is a look at the WSOP Main Event winners and field size from the past decade:

While most of the focus in the poker world is on the WSOP Main Event, yesterday the first WSOP online bracelet event in history concluded.

It was Anthony holdplz Spinella(pictured) crowned the winner, taking home his first WSOP bracelet along with a top prize of $197,743 in this event while playing under the screenname casedimised. The inaugurual online bracelet event attracted 905 players, many of whom are PocketFivers including Craig imgrinding Varnell(3rd place – $73,079), David lolcats Tuthill(5th place – $47,286), and Ryan HITTHEPANDA Franklin (6th place – $33,530).

Spinella couldn’t seem any more pleased to have won the bracelet, announcing to his over 2,600 followers on Twitter, “It took 7 years but we finally got our first WSOP bracelet. Thank you all for the support,it never gets old 🙂 happy fourth- Safe celebrating.”

Varnell, who started the final table in the chipleader, congratulated Varnell when Tweeting, “Got 3rd got unlucky after getting luck congrats to @holdplz ur the man.”
