The money bubble has officially burst in poker's most prestigious tournament with four players tying for 666th place and everyone's eyes are set on the $8.5 million top prize. The top dog in the Main Event right now is Ben Greenberg, who at 2.14 million leads Volpe and the third place stack of Dave doubledave22 D'Alesandro. Volpe is a former #1 player in the PocketFives Poker Rankings and has been a member of the site since 2009. The Canuck has $3 million in tracked cashes in his profile to go along with a current worldwide ranking of #103.
D'Alesandro has been a card-carrying member of PocketFives since the Bush administration and is at $1.9 million in tracked MTT winnings. D'Alesandro is in the New Jersey poker community and has contributed nearly 5,000 posts to PocketFives.
Ryan toetagu Fair (pictured) was among those making waves on Day 4 of the WSOP Main Event on Friday. While this author was busy seeing Bob Saget, Fair called all-in after a 6bet from Benjamin Alcober, who tabled bullets. Fair turned over kings and was a 4:1 underdog until a king hit on the turn for a set. Fair dodged a straight draw on the river and doubled up to over 800,000.At another table at the Rio, Mike timex McDonald committed his stack with A-10 on a flop of 10-2-2 for tens-up. However, former November Niner Joseph subiime Cheong showed 6-2 for trips, which held when the board filled out Q-9. Cheong shot up to nearly 800,000 in chips.
David Davidp18 Peters was relegated to the rail on Day 4 of the Main Event after running pocket tens into aces. Elsewhere in the Rio convention center, Gavin Smith was all-in with top set on a 10-9-8 flop and up against A-K. The WSOP bracelet winner held on for a double up to 270,000 in chips.
