this is a little resume about my last 6 months of playing poker
more serious or in a semi-professional way. looking back at my
cold numbers I played 672 mtt's last 180 days with 130 cashes.
my actual ROI is at nicely +82% and I made arround 2,5 % of those
mtt's top3 places... so all in all it looks good to me but looking
deeper into the numbers I see that the july was a big profit month
coz I managed to get three deeper 4 digit scores and october was
nice too. the november is already ending and I really see no big
difference in the stats this month but it could may be the first red
one so I wondered what I did wrong here ?
the only thing thats different if I resume the month by myself is the
fact I missed to go REALLY DEEP (top3 or better) in a bunch of FT's
in the bigger MTT's I play (50k 2 times, 18K 1 times and 5.5k 2 times).
So I thought about what was wrong there or was I able to be better
and if yes how ?
This all brought me back to the question: "What is the best tactic
on a final table ?" imagine we talk about the huge diff in the prize ladder
if it comes to top5 or top3 and I love to share an idea I had to may
analyse my exit-hands at these "MISSES" in november.
So far I know I was well placed in any of these above mentioned five
final tables (at least a top3 stack at a longer time at the table) and still
wasn't able to get deeper. One or two of these exits were not able
to avoid: KK vs 1010 / QQ vs KK - both hands got 3 betted preflop
ALL IN by myself and I don't really see any chance to play it different
but the other three exits where mostly JJ vs Ax or JJ vs higher pocket.
OK - an amount of three hands doesn't say much but here is my idea
of it - I really think I have to take care of the hand 1010 and JJ in these
spots. Rather playing them if possible to the flop than reraising them all
in preflop or calling all ins with it preflop... May its my crazy mind but this
goes somewhere to analyse exit-hands specially those at important FT's
where I'm in good stacks and really can wait for absolute monsters.
On the other side I really think I'm very carefull at these situations already
not playing too aggressive or overpacing - once again it would be helpfull
to have your thoughts about it.
If you would have the above info's would you just say "UNLUCKY" or
would you advice me to play different in these spots ?
PLS POST GUYS !!! and also GIRLS :-)
