  1. as i said in my last post its been way to fn busy around here to play alot of cards. i took 2nd in a live tourney this last weekend and then rapped the cash games. nice score for the weekend.

i also took 6th in some 2 dollar donkament a week or so ago on PS for a few dollars. so i am now 5-5 for live tourneys as far as cashing with my worst finish being 4th.

big day tomorrow for my health stuff. things are not going very good as of late. the cancer is spreading and im fighting like mad. i just cant shake the feeling that this shit it tougher than me.

    gg and gl all

  2. Well its been a very busy spring/summer so far. I really have not played much cards since my last entry. I have been really busy with the kids softball and other activities so there is not much time left in the day. I have played 4 live tourneys since my last blog. I have cashed all 4 times with 1st,2nd,3rd and a 4th place finish. Granted the fields are not very big its still nice to cash and have some extra money laying around. I think I have only played 1 cash session and that was a 2-60 spread and I doubled up in 2 hours and called it a night.

All in all i guess I cant complain, im in the black ffs. I have only played a few games on line. Nothing to talk about though.

Gotta run.......hope you all are having a good summer!

  3. Well I guess I cant complain about not running good anymore and my cards not holding. Went to a local casino last night and played a small $140 BI FO. I was origninally going to head to Running Aces but had some friends call me up last minute and said they were heading to a different casino. So I said I would meet them there and play the tourney. I was not really happy about it but I am glad I went.

So myself and 3 other friends are in this tourney. One of them is in seat 8 and I am in seat 6. Pretty standard play for the most part in the first hour I did not play any big pots but I did chip up since the table seemed to be playing fairly tight. Starting stacks were 10k and after the first hour i was approaching 20k. I did not knock any players out but I was the CL at our table. Shortly after the break my friend and I get into a pot together. He was UTG+1 and I was the BB, he raised 3x and folds around to me and I look down at A8hh and call. Now after playing with my friend on several occasions I have no clue what he might be raising with. He is one of those ATC type player so its very hard to put him on a specific had. I was thinking I will probably be mucking these cards when the flop hits because I know he wil throw a CB no matter what comes on the flop. So the flop come 688 with two clubs. As I thougth he bets out about half the pot. I guess I really couldnt ask for a better flop for my hand unless it was hearts but I was not sure how I should play the hand with him. At first I thought i should just smooth call it. I figued if he had a real hand such as 1010+ he would probably push with the flush draw out there. So I decided to reraise because I thought this would be most profitable against him. So I raise and he tanks and then shoves. At this point I know he has a big pocket pair and I pretty much insta call. Sure enough he had QQ. No help for him on later streets and he was off to the cash tables. Felt sorry for him but thats poker, I have no problem taking any of my friends to the felt. I win a few more hands, and one more big pot before the next break. I was UTG+1 and get delt KJo. As I said before the table was playing pretty tight and I have chips so I decide I would try to push my weight around a bit more. So I raise 3x and it folds around to MP with a call and the rest of the table folds. Flop comes out Kxx. I CB half the pot and villian calls. Now I have watched this guy for the last couple of hours and he seemed pretty tight and the call had me wondering. Turn comes a 10. I decide to check here to see what he does.......he bets out half the pot and for some fn weird reason I put him on K10. Even though I think I am behind here I decide to call and hopefully check down the river. To my surprise the J comes on the river!!!!! Since I think he has K10 I check hoping for him to bet out. He doesnt and he shows K10 and does not like the fact that I just rivered him.

We went on break and I was thinking to myself if that was the best play (checking the river) since I didnt get any value out of it. Hindsight is always 20/20 and since I put him on hand (and I was actually right) I really thought he would of bet the river reguardless of the river card. I think if I were in his shoes I would of put some type of value bet out there. Anyway it was a pretty good size pot and I was now the tourney CL.

FINAL TABLE!!!!! Well I made it to the final table and I was clearly the CL at the table. To top it off I get seat 5 my other 2 friends are in seats 6 and 7. Too fn funny.there is 2 very short stacks at the table, less than 10BB and now the blinds are getting to the point where we will start getting alot all ins or at least you would think that if you are aware of how many BB you have. I was not getting any real good hands but they were playable and I used my chip advantage to push the action. I dont remember all the hands that I played but I do remember a few. I knocked out the first short stack with K9o. I was in the big blind and it folded around to me with him all in. I was getting about 2:1 and pretty mush insta called and there were a few comments at the table about my play. All In guy had A10o and I hit my 9 on the river to take him out. I rarely even talk when at the tables and I never said anything to the others that thought I made this terrible call. I just collected the chips and then the dealer chimed in and told the other players that given stack sizes the amount of money in the pot and the hand values it was not that bad of a call. I thought it was pretty standard but apparently its not in some players eyes.

We get down to 7 players and only 6 are getting paid. I was abusing my friends everytime they were in the blinds it never failed I was always on the button with an unopened pot. I raised every time 3x with ATC and it worked all but one time when my friend in seat 6 shoved and promptly folded. They were giving me a hard time about stealing and we had a good laugh. They both finally got down under 20 bigs and I know they both know its time to start shoving. I was SB when my buddy in UTG seat 7 raises 3x and it folds around to me. I look down at 66. Now I thought this was a interesting spot he has around 20k leads out for 6k. I really dont think I pllayed this right or maybe I did. I called to see a flop. BBB (buddy big blind) folds and we see a flop of 3 8 10 rainbow. My plan was if there was any paint on the board I would check and fold to his more than likely all in bet. Here is where I wasnt really sure what the right play was. I didnt mind the flop and figured I might be behind since his original bet was screaming please call me so I can pick up some chips with this hand! Since I was thinking this it mind fucked me and any and all plans that I had were gone. I tanked and decided to check it, he moved all in and I tanked again and decided to call since its possible he might be on a draw still. He had AK and never improved. So I knocked out 2 friends now with one to go!

I know the above hand may seem trivial to most but and with the amount of chips I had this was probably a no brainer for the call and or push pre or post flop. I really do try to play the best I can. I think alot of my play lately has to do with me running somewhat bad in live tourneys. I get mind fucked sometimes and cant think straight most plays are pretty straight forward but I was thinking I made the final table and I dont want to start spewing chips, I want to take this down.

I think i am doing alot of rambling here and this is probably a jumbled mess, I only got about 3 hours of sleep last night and I am beat. Sorry if this is hard to follow or read.......lol

Well I continue to play ok and we finally get down to 3 players and I knock out the last guy before we go HU. My KJ>K10 held and we are off to discuss chopping. The other player is a decent guy and player and we were about dead even in chips. I had 17k more than he did and we decided to chop so I could go to the cash tables and he wanted to go have a beer. So we chopped and I was ok with that.

Off to the cash tables!!!!!!!!!!! I have been doing pretty well at 2-10 spread as of late and was looking forward to playing. Boy did I get worked!!!!! It wasnt that I was playing all that bad I just could not get anything going. I bought in for $200 and I was down to $80 in no time. The table was betting like wild. There were straddles on every hand just about and if you wanted to see a flop it was going to cost you at a minimum $10 if not more. I got some playable cards in position and it just never worked out. I had a guy to my right who obviously had no clue how to play and was raising EVERY hand and bettting rags all the way to the river. Long story short I just could not get cards, missed every flop and when it was all said and done I was down $150. I should of went home earlier but these two or three monkeys at the table were so fn bad and I really wanted to stick around and get their money. Everyone got a piece of the pie and I was card dead. I played too many sub par hands just because these clowns would pay you off with anything.....I should of known better but I was getting tilted with the play and things were just not going my way at all.

Well gotta get running, I have rambled on enough. One of my buddies who played last night is having a surprise birthday party tonight and I have to make the 2 hour drive north to meet up with all my friends. Should be a great time with lots of food, drinks and of course the crazy fuckers I call my friends.
