  1. I started my new backing schedule about a week ago, mainly im sticking to $33 freezeouts, 10cube>, and 5r> now. I opened an account up on ap about a month ago and im liking it alot over there. The software sucks and sometimes when im 10-15 tabling its easy to lose track of there tables and end up sitting out, but since the players are so bad over there its all worth it. I never played on cereous before now because of the whole ub issues but at the end of the day alot of good players that are playing on stars and tilt are not on ap/ub.

The story of the week for me was making runs but not finishing them off. It started with 13th in midnight madness, where i 4b jammed the flop with air when the bb flatted pre with ak with an A high flop. It was a weird spot cuz his stats were something like 32/12 and flatting ak or any big ace kinda threw me off.

My other deep runs in big fields were 33rd in $26, 18th in $22 6max, 13th in 3r met rush, and 23rd in $11 cashout. I felt like i played good/decent late in these but couldnt avoid cooler spots.

Making these runs consistently is making me feel like its only a matter of time before I can come through with some good scores. I havent reviewed my hhs lately so I will most likely try to do that 2 times a week for a while on my off days. School is about a month or so away from being over so I really wanna focus on finishing this semester off right. school>working out>poker. Saying that, I really am looking forward to double gtds week on ftp and hopefully it will be a big week.

  2. After consideration, I've decided to start up a blog. Hopefully doing this will help me stay motivated and more dedicated. Here's some background info to get started...

My name is Gary, I'm 21 and currently a junior at the University of Texas San Antonio,, Majoring in Psychology and minoring in Business. I started playing poker when I was 16 in home games with my teamates from my high school basketball team. It didnt take too long before I wanted to really learn and get better so I could crush my friends at the time. I first started playing online and joined p5s when I was 18. I started out by playing Sngs. I was coached by Faarcyed in May-June 2009, a popular sng player and a coach now at cardrunners. He introduced me to icm and gave me a good foundation. I grinded out 16$ turbos for a while but after a while I wasn't too interested in grinding out Sngs. I was really more interested in MTTs because of the competition that I had from playing sports my whole life. After that due to school I played off and on throughout semesters, never putting in much volume.

I started focusing only on MTTs in May of 2010; I joined a training site and starting reading the Winning tournaments one hand at a time series. I also started talking with some people that I had met from various team comps from p5s. This led to some sucess pretty quickly with hitting some of my biggest scores in MTTs. I played throughout the summer but stopped playing during the fall semester due to taking alot of hours at school and focusing on that.

In December of 2010 I decided that I really want to expand my game. So I did some research on getting a backer with coaching. After looking around for a while I found a good stable. Since my abi was under $11 they started me out grinding $11> for my first 500 games. I began working with laruegg and improved alot since. In January I won MM for a little over $4k. Since then I've been juggling school and a social life with grinding MTTs. It gets tough at times but getting a good schedule down is my focus and doable imo.

Since now I'm about finished with my 500 MTTs. I'm going to be moving up and playing more. Hopefully I can put alot of deep runs together in the near future. I want to be able to join some people in Vegas to grind out the live tournys this summer. Hopefully if everything works out I will have the opportunity to go.
