12/08/2009 - (Formerly known as) Staying Solid

Wow, Day 2 of my resolution to post at the end of each day. Must be some kind of new record.

I've actually just really pissed myself off. Because I was running to a nice little win rate of around 10BB/100 hands just, but I just called off all my profit in two separate hands, one with a straight draw against a fish who I knew I would get paid off by, and one which I'll put down below. I'm an idiot.

Hands: 359
$ Won: -1.12
BB/100: -3.52

I would've been around $7 profit until those two hands. This was one of them:

Villain was 7/7 over about 30 hands. I took a flop in position, which was silly, because I had a shitty hand. Check flop, fine. Call Turn is ok, but on the River I should've taken more time. What hand does he bet Turn AND River with that I beat? I can pretty much split this a handful of times, but otherwise he has me killed. Poor. And it was one of the last hands of my session too.

One other hand I just want to post. Villain was playing 44/9 when this hand came up, and I just felt that I was ahead. Completely read-dependent as he had been leading the flop like that a lot, and I felt this time he had something I was beating.

Little bit of a gamble as hands that he could reasonably flat here absolutely nail that flop. Apparently not. After all, his stats were loose as sin.

I can see there being no poker tomorrow as I'll be out all day and all night. May well be a good thing!

Must stop being a station. And I must think about decisions more!
