20/08/2009 - Playing well, still running bad

Ok, so here are my stats for this session:

Hands: 324
$ Won: -10.70
BB/100: -33.02

I ran a whole $10 below expectation, which sucked. Sure, I'd still have ended up break even, but it gets to you after a while.

Once again, I lost a big pot right at the end of my session to send my bank even lower. I'm not sure I could've done much else to be honest.

Don't see how I can put him on the nut boat there. I can maybe put him on a 3, but what combination of cards flat-calls pf out of position with a 3 in it, then leads? Don't get it. I'm going to post it on another website to try and figure out what I should've done.

My winrate is really not showing it, but I feel I'm playing really well. Stopped making stupid moves on even stupider players and just playing my cards and not getting too fancy. Been getting some really nice value bets in, too. Just gotta bide my time!

    1. Some notes....

      PRE: It's not "completely standard" to raise preflop here. Do you ever lay down AT or 66 in this spot (preflop)? I'll raise it probably 65-70% of the time. But ok...

      FLOP: Very dry. Could be a middle pair testing waters, Jx, or a 3. It probably isn't a 3. Definitely call this bet...don't raise for "info."

      TURN: You're right: this turn card is good for us. He still bets his Jxes, but he's somewhat likely to slow down with mid pairs. Be wary... however I'd call this. You ask if a raise is better...I don't think so. Would your intention be to raise/call or raise/fold?

      RIV: He has bet twice, and you've called both times. It's possible to lay down here, but raising is out of the question. He never calls you with a worse hand than KJ. Common bet pattern for big hands is small, small, huge. But idk, you can call and take a note. Comments?
    2. i agre with Chasrg, i dont like the raise on the river coz after all you only have top pair, 2nd kicker. middle pairs wouldnt make that river bet, QJ might do but still not sure. but this is an example of how leadin with a huge hand is very deceptive, wouldnt say its a cooler but its def a hand to learn from and move on
