  1. Seeing as this is my first blog post I think it is only appropriate that I give a little background information. My name is Jeremy and I am a 23 year old student/pro poker player from St. Louis. I am getting ready to start my last last semester at Mizzou, completing my major in Personal Financial Management Services, with a minor in Business. This is my fifth year at Mizzou and although I have had an amazing college experience, I am ready to be done with this chapter of my life and move on to bigger and better things.
As far as poker goes, I have been playing for roughly 6 years now, starting in high school with my friends. Once I got to college I discovered online poker and played on pokerroom.com. I did the usual beginner routine of depositing $25-$50 and losing it and the depositing again. Eventually I moved over to Full Tilt Poker and went on a good run but eventually playing over my head emptied my bankroll. I kept playing on PokerStars and Full Tilt, and in July of 2007 I decided to make poker my job while in school. I started out grinding $50NL and within 2 months I moved up to $100NL, where I remained for quite a while. I had a few good tournament scores during this time and eventually I moved up to $200NL full time on full tilt poker. Recently, however, I decided to move my bankroll back to PokerStars in an attempt to achieve Supernova Elite, the highest VIP level PokerStars offers.
To achieve Supernova Elite, I will have to play more poker than I ever have before. I will be playing 18 tables of $200NL, as well as 4 tables of $5-$10 Limit Hold'em, 6 hours a day. I also mix in $5-$10 stud, stud hi/lo, razz, horse, and omaha 8/B when I can. I am more than aware that this will be one of the toughest things I have ever attempted, but it is something I really want. Staying on a good pace from now until graduation will be the hardest part, as I will be playing full time come the middle of May. I am going to update my blog here a few times a week with my progress.
