  1. Played significantly less than i had wished but still made my target dollar wise. Definitely could of made more but when i did play like an idiot at least i stopped quickly.

    Made ~$250RB & $1422.61 over 12370 hands / 37.62hrs @ 4 tables 50NL

Seems quite high to make $6.60/hr rakeback but i'm not complaining.

I'll be sticking to 50NL till i get upto $4,000 which hopefully is by this time next week.

Hopefully i can play 20k hands this week.

  2. Cash game hands are like those 'funny stories' people tell you that happened to them when they were at work or something....to properly appreciate them you just had to 'be there'.

Here (in the UK) on Deal or No Deal there have been 30 or so members of the '1p club' and only 3 £250,000 winners. I find the show pretty addictive/amusing as members of the public are so generally clueless about gambling maths/odds. Almost every game i end up cursing as someone accepts an offer of £10,000 when the EV of their game is £35,000 or so.

As far as poker goes i've been doing alright. I made some small adjustments to my game; tending towards 25/18 rather than 28/21 - this basically means tightening up in EP (but damn do i hate folding those 65s), not 3-betting total junk from the SB/BB vs. LP iso raisers and not completing the SB in limped pots with 64o etc (but i can make a straight/full house....or even quads!).

Since i started this HEM database in Sept last year i've played 86 sessions; 72 winning, 14 losing. Since 17th Oct 09 i've played 48 sessions; 44 winning and 4 losing. My losing sessions tend to be fairly spectacular when i have them though; my regular sessions last 1000 - 1500 hands, my big losing sessions tend to follow a predicatble pattern - start off by say losing a couple of 60/40s, getting KK vs AA'd, flopping a set and getting outdrawn; the standard run bad, followed by the play bad & run bad combo resulting in a 10-25BI loss in the space of say 6 hrs, followed by sitting for 20 hrs straight trying to get back to even, then taking a week off from playing while i mentally recuperate. So, this year, whilst working on my tilting problem (Jared Tendler videos on Stox/Cardrunners are really excellent help with this) i've decided that if i drop 4 Buy-Ins from my session peak i'll take a break for at least an hour - it's not that i necessarily played bad to lose the BIs, but from experience i know i'm much more likely to play bad after i've lost them. So i've set a stop loss and i'm hopefully going to stick to it.

Results so far this month at 50NL:

    25.44hrs, 8483 hands, +$968.82, ~$170 RB (30% RB)
