I'm sitting here in bed on my iPhone browsing trying to fall asleep as I usually do every night and decided I should start keeping blogs as it will be fun and something I will enjoy doing, I enjoy reading other peoples blogs so I will try to keep them interesting so you all will enjoy mine. So this is the first of many to come. I will keep track of my grind to the top as that is my main goal is to be able to play poker for a living, which I think I can accomplish within the next couple of years. Now a little background about me for those who don't know(everybody). I'm 19, live in Kemp, Tx and have been playing poker for about 2yrs but really didn't take it seriously till about 7months ago after taking 4th in the 2.75 5k gtd on stars. Then I knew how to play fairly decent but really didn't take it nearly as serious as I do now, obv I ran extremely well and got pretty lucky to take 4th because I really didn't know to much about stack sizes etc etc. After that I started playing more and reading articles, browsing forums reading and realized how many people around my age that were making a killing just playing poker and got inspired to do the same. Poker is not like basketball, football, baseball etc where you have to be 6' or taller and a huge beast pretty much. To be a poker pro you just have to have the right mindset, be smart, patient, and like they say "know when to hold em and know when to fold em". There is more to being a pro than just these things obv but these are the main things that come to mind. Now enough rambling....
I withdrew all my winnings except $100 after the tourney and transfered my bro $40 and eventually lost the rest due to poor br management and still being a donk. Deposited $10 here, $20 there and of course would lose it all. Finally after going busto so many times I finAlly decided I was going to be strict with my br and try to build it. I got staked on a site I frequent alot for 4 2.20 90mans about 2 months ago and ended up with $8 of my own after stake was over, grinded the 2.20 90mans and eventually started grinding the $4 180mans about a month ago and now have a br around $700. Now I work full time so I can't grind all day like I would like to but I usually get in a session a day. I know if I could play 8hrs a day I could make some decent $$ but I can't so I'll keep doing what I'm doing till I'm able to. I recently plugged most of my major leaks though I'm sure they're are still definately some to be plugged and definately will work my hardest to find and fix them. When I set my mind on so ething I always accomplish and I know I can accomplish my main goal and hope you all are along for the ride to witness it, for now I'm finally getting tired after rambling for an hour typing on this phone which I might add isn't the most fun thing in the world. Well I guess that's it for now please let me know what y'all think of my 1st blog.
