  1. I am a semi-regular at the Walker Hill Hotel & Casino Poker Room in Seoul, Korea. They have 1-2 and 2-5 NL games regularly (500, 1000 max buy in respectively), and I have sat down with some of the worst players on the planet.

For a little background on the casino, Korean citizens are not allowed in, so you have a mix of Korean ex-pats, Westerners, and Chinese/Japanese tourists.

The Korean ex-pats can be roughly divided into two categories:

    1. Younger (Under 35)- Usually know what they are doing, tend to be tad aggressive

    2. Older- Generally donks, will limp and call raises with crap (any 2 suited, any A, and worse), sometimes extremely aggressive, and love to bluff

Westerners also fall into 2 basic categories (all these categories are not 100% obviously)

    1. GI Joe-Will rarely fold, will rarely check raise, mainly there for the free alcohol...will almost always leave with an empty stack

    2. Non-Military-Usually businessmen or teachers, they tend to normally know what they are doing, but so often, they don't adjust their play (they will raise to 8 when the majority of the table will happily call 20...at 1-2!)

The tourists, my favorite, and why Walker Hill is my favorite place. Let me give you an example of what happened to me one night.

A Chinese guy comes straight from the roulette table with a stack of 1,000 chips, and tries to buy in for 5000 lol. He goes in for the max, 500, and starts going all in...every hand...pre flop. He actually busts the first caller (AK) with a Q7o. Next, he starts doing the same thing, but without even looking at his cards. I pick up a 99 and decide to call him. He has K8, and I doubled up. He buys in for 500 again and on the next hand I have KK...he goes all in again, and I call him, he has 76 and a K flops. He left a short time later, back to roulette I guess...but I was able to make about 1050 off him in 5 minutes.

Though he is the worst player I have encountered, they don't fall far from the tree. I don't see myself as a great player, but probably average 200 in a 4-5 hour session. It feels like party poker back at its peak, but even worse, if that is possible.

If you are ever in this part of the world, hit it up for some easy $.

P.S. The free food is fantastic
