  1. Ok , bare with me now P5er's because despite having read blogs on a daily basis for the best part of 3 years this is actually my first blog post and so cant guarantee it being anything else than a one-off post that 3 people read. if your one of the 3 let me know if it makes sense and i'll carry on on a weekly basis.

THe main reason i have never posted before today is that in the past my poor bankroll management and very low volume of play has meant that I havent had much to report of i've been on monkey tilt and would only have posted bad beat stories. pfff.

Quick bit of background to myself. my name is Alistair, I'm a 23 year old from Bridgend, South Wales (in the UK). Started playing home games and online about 4 years ago but only really had monthly serious spells where i've played more than a tourney a week. About 18 months ago when in university i would play live almost every day in the casinos and took a tidy bit of money. unfortunately i gambled too much on the non-skill games and lost it all. I got my online bankroll up to $5kish but lost it all on a soccer bet. sick bad beat story but not rite now.

On to the month just passed (january) - a quick rundown the figures:

for cash games on 3 levels i have done ok:

    at 10NL - 4490hands for $144.85 at 16bb/100
    at 25NL - 4964hands for $80.65 at 3bb/100
    at 50NL(HU) 2309hands for $322.55 at 13bb/100

although i'm trying to be as analytical as i can with my data from PO i dont really know what would be a good bb/100 hands escpecially for HU play which i have crushed in general with exception of some sick beats/coolers.

most of my play has been at the turbo $12 180man sngs where you will see more bad beats/suckouts than ever. when i'm not thinking well my mind tells me its all down to the cards and the skill level is reduced but then when i play well i do very well in this format. the payout is the top 18 with penultimate table crashes doubling their stake. the real money as always doesnt start until the final 3 and i have managed to get a few 2nds, 1 sole 1st and several FTs on this. my month on this format would have been better had it not been for the 25 buyin downswing i suffered last week where i ran rediculously badly andp played badly as well. But i ended the month well by entering 4 at the same time. i cashed for 3rd in 1 for 236, 9th in 1 for 39 and 10th-18th for 24 in the other two and without continuin bad beat stories lost with KK on A9 and AK to AJ on the two where i didnt make final table.

Before i go, i caught most of the final table in the super tuesday yesterday and congrats to shaundeeb who continues to amaze me with another awesome victory, well done shaun keep it up now lilholdem954 is back from obscurity.
