My Poker Status/Goals

Some of my posts on this blog will be completely about poker, some will be about life and how poker affects it, but most of my posts will be about both. This post is intended to create a starting point in order to track my progress. My bankroll is currently at about $2000 spread between PlayersOnly, FTP, and Absolute right now. I really think ALL the games(cash, sngo, mtt) on the Cake network are by far the softest online so that is where I will be spending most of my time playing. I also really enjoy the smaller field sizes on Cake. The biggest drawback is that the MTT schedule is pretty limited. But since I will be playing on my laptop for the next couple of weeks, it shouldn't bother me too much as I will run 1-4 games at a time and play sngos when I can't get the MTT action I am looking for.

My goal is not to do some ridiculous thing like turn $0.01 into $1,000,000 in 72 hours :). My goal is to play my best poker at all times, take my time on all decisions, and to play with a complete void of emotion. My goal for all MTTs is to win. I am ALWAYS (to this point) disappointed with anything but a 1st place finish, regardless of the amount of money won. For instance, I had a great day on Monday making 3 final tables (field sizes 100 or less) I had 2 wins and a 9th place finish netting me about $1500. And I the only thing I could think about was how I could have played some of the hands in the 9th place finish better. I am so sick I even looked back at some of the mistakes I made in the two wins. I am never satisfied and that is probably what appeals most to me about poker. I am also an avid golfer and I think golf offers the same appeal: it is nearly impossible to become satisfied with your game.

That is all for now. I am currently playing a $12 turbo MTT on Players and will hopefully have a bankroll increase to report by days end.

Thanks For Reading.
