I had emptied my bankroll on Full Tilt recently and had $.72 left. Since I have renewed my passion for poker I decided to not deposit and see how far I can go with this $.72.
I started by playing a .01/.02 table and buying in for a small amount. I got enough to play in a $1.20 heads up game and I won. I then played in a few .01/.02 full ring games and did ok. Then I over played that $4.00 bankroll I built. So back down I went.
I then decided to play a $3.30 MTT which was a KO tourney. I placed 21st out of 573 players. Bankroll now at $11.12. I felt great about it so I played a few more tourneys and lost a little and been back and forth ever since. Today resting at $12.93 after playing 8 and 6 tables at .01/02 NL, 6 players.
The lesson for me is very important because for years I've just deposited more money when I bust like that. That's what I've always done and I end up playing outside my bankroll because it is easy to just deposit more money.
I don't and have never played hi stakes online or live but if I can keep to this bankroll management long enough, I will be. The cards are easy to play, it's the money aspect that is the toughest. At least for me.
