Well the last 2 days of MTT have been my most successful. On Sunday I placed 2nd in the 3k PL HA on FT and today I won the 3500 PLO KO and came in 6th in the 3k HA. The PLO win was my biggest to date and my first 4 figure cash so I was on top of the world. That is, until I final tabled the HA.
This is 2 nights in a row that I was chip leader heading into the final table. Chip leader when it was down to 6 players so I expected myself to finish this 1 off. Lost 3 hands in a row and I was out of the tourny. Lost 100k pot KJ<QQ, but I was still chip leader with like 110k. Bet pot on button with A7, BB pushed with KJ and he won. He had 8bb left when he pushed. So i was down to 70k and was still 3rd in chips. I guess the table thought I was steaming, because when I reraised with J998, guy shoves with A489. He had me covered by about 8k. Steaming or not, that is a horrible play to call off all your chips with A489 but hey, thats way the cards fall.
Even though I had a very successful couple days and my biggest win, I still feel like a failure. Well, not a failure, but like I didn't live up to my abilities. Is that good or bad? I fully expected to win the HA tonight as well as last night. Its just very difficult to have a chance to win MTT that when you are so close and don't finish it off, whether it be because of a suckout or bad play or you got tired, whatever the case may be, you just sit back and wonder what could have been.
Alas I digress, I'll be back tomorow grinding out the PLO tournys. Anyway, 3 final tables in 2 days is definalty good and gives me the confidence to keep doing it again.
