  1. I have made literally 10 phone calls to Orbitz concerning my Vegas trip, and their customer service is terrible. They sent me a notice on June 6th that my tickets were not going to be e-tickets like it said on their flight and they would have to ship paper tickets to me. The email also mentioned they were going to ship them to my credit card billing address. Since Orbitz is in USD, I used my USD account to pay for this which is located in the US as I have done in the past. I emailed them back that day saying to send the tickets to my Lithuanian address. No response until the next day when they said the shipment has commenced.

I called Orbitz on the 7th, spoke to some clueless customer service representative who assured me that the package has been rerouted and I would receive a confirmation email. Next day, no confirmation email, and the UPS tracking still showed the tickets going to NJ. I called again on the 8th, and they had no record of my conversation with them on the 7th in their system. They then went ahead and changed my address, noted it in my file, sent me a confirmation email, and assured me the package with my paper tickets was rerouted. Of course when I check the next day on the UPS site, they are still going to NJ. I call again on the 8th, at least this time they had record of my convo on the 7th. This conversation basically said they can't reroute and don't know why I was told that. I asked if I could just cancel my tickets, and that was not an option. The only option he said was possible was to have the tickets sent back to the Orbitz office to be sent out then to Lithuania. I told him that time was thin, he understood and said the package should be there by Friday. To hedge my bets, I called the Vilnius airport to see if they could print my tickets, and was denied that as well. I got an email from Orbitz with the new tracking information showing it going back to their office and was told to call again on Friday.

Friday comes, they do not have the tickets, I call again, they told me to call again on Saturday/Sunday to see if they have received. I call again today (Sunday the 13th), was on hold while they were researching for an hour, was hung up on, and not called back. I called back about 30 min later, hoping they would email me something, and got someone that was doing research for me, and said he would call me back. Thankfully he did call me back, but best he could offer was to route me to the airlines and give me $50 credit off a future flight. I then saw that Delta owns KLM (the airline that this was booked under even though the flights themselves are operated by other carriers). I called Delta, had them switch my tickets into their system and they assured me there would not be a problem. I see that they are recorded in their system, but can't know for sure until the 16th if I will have problems when I try online check-in. If there is a problem then, I will have to go to the airport a day early just to make sure I have my tickets. I am going either way, but would hate to have to book last minute at much higher prices and also pay twice.

Also, no email back from Orbitz concerning my $50 credit off future services. I won't use them again anyway, $50 isn't worth the hours of international calls I have spent, plus all the aggrevation.

I am still psyched about Las Vegas, and this is just a bump in the road hopefully for a bracelet. I have sold off 25% of my action to friends, and hope for a nice payday for all of us.

    Viva Las Vegas!

  2. I am giving myself a $10k budget to play tournaments. I know I have to keep the scheduling flexible as if I run deep one day, I might not be able to play something planned for the following day (good thing) and if I bust out of a tournament early, its good to know if there are any going on later in the day (bad thing).

As listed in my last blog entry, the WSOP tournaments I have outlined for most likely play are:

    June 19 - $3,000 HORSE (3 day)
    June 21 - $1,500 NLHE Shootout
    June 22 - $1,500 PLO8
    June 23 - $1,500 NL
    June 24 - $2,500 Mixed Holdem

The WSOP tourneys will get first priority over anything else I might play. Below are some possibilities for off-times listed above.:

    Binnions
    June 18 noon - HORSE - $500 40 min blinds $20k stacks
    June 20 2pm - NLHE - $210 30 min blinds, $15k stacks
    June 21 2pm - PLO8 - $210 30 min blinds, $15k stacks
    June 25 2pm - LO8 $310 30 min blinds, $18k stacks

Golden Nugget (all tourneys 40 min blinds 12k chips)
    June 18 noon - NLHE - $560
    June 18 noon - PLO8 - $235
    June 20 noon - NLHE - $235
    June 21 noon - NLHE - $235
    June 21 noon - HORSE - $240
    June 25 noon - Stud h/l - $240
    June 25 noon - NLHE - $235

    Venetian
    June 18 noon - NLHE - $560 40 min blinds $15k stacks
    June 20 noon - NLHE - $340 40 min blinds $12k stacks
    June 21 noon - NLHE - $560 40 min blinds $15k stacks
    June 25 noon - NLHE - $340 40 min blinds $12k stacks

    Caesars
    June 18 - noon - NLHE $560 40 min blinds $25k stacks
    June 20 - noon - NLHE $340 40 min blinds $20K stacks
    June 21 - noon - NLHE $340 40 min blinds $20K stacks
    June 25 - noon - NLHE $560 40 min blinds $25k stacks
    * Nightly tourneys $225 turbo 4pm, $150 7pm, $80 10pm *

    Rio (non WSOP)
    Daily 1pm - NLHE $550 30 min blinds $5k stacks
    Daily 3pm - NLHE $340 30 min blinds $5k stacks
    Daily 7pm - NLHE $100 20 min blinds $3k stacks

If anyone is aware of any other tournaments I should possibly consider, please comment.

Besides the tournament grind I plan to put in, I will spend 1/2 a day visiting cousins and a bunch of time hanging out with some friends. I also hope to get a few cash game sessions, especially O8, Mixed Games, and PLO.

I have given 20% to 2 friends at cost for my tournament run as well, hopefully I will run good for both them and me. Run go0ot one time! :)

  3. I was thinking of going to the main event this year, but since many of my friends will be out in late June, I decided to hedge myself a bit, and play a few tournies instead of just 1.

I am flying out on June 17th in the morning. My first leg is from Vilnius to Amsterdam.. I will be arriving in Amsterdam at 8am, and will not have to leave until 2pm.. It will give me enough time to leave the airport if I am up for it, and visit a coffee shop, etc. I then leave Amsterdam at 2pm, and fly to Newark NJ.. I will arrive in Newark at 4:30PM with enough time to get some dinner and then fly at 7:35pm to Las Vegas. I will arrive at 10:24PM and try to catch up with some friends..

My schedule is tentative, but I plan on playing most of the following:

    June 19 - $3,000 HORSE (3 day)
    June 21 - $1,500 NLHE Shootout
    June 22 - $1,500 PLO8
    June 23 - $1,500 NL
    June 24 - $2,500 Mixed Holdem

I will also be considering playing some smaller tourneys as well, but will most likely play cash and relax on those off days. I am planning on meeting up with some friends the night of the 25th, but obviously not if I am deep in the $1500NL or the $2500 Mixed holdem.

I leave Las vegas on June 26th at night, and arrive early in the morning on the 27th. I might go to Philadelphia quickly to pick up my cat from my friends and then back to visit some family in Northern NJ. I fly back with my cat (another reason for visiting the US) on June 28th and will be back in Vilnius in the afternoon on the 29th.

This blog will be updated during my stay, just wanted to share my plans and also have a reference point to look back on myself..

    Peace,
    Jaxon
