Email A Friend
I have made literally 10 phone calls to Orbitz concerning my Vegas trip, and their customer service is terrible. They sent me a notice on June 6th that my tickets were not going to be e-tickets like it said on their flight and they would have to ship paper tickets to me. The email also mentioned they were going to ship them to my credit card billing address. Since Orbitz is in USD, I used my USD account to pay for this which is located in the US as I have done in the past. I emailed them back that day saying to send the tickets to my Lithuanian address. No response until the next day when they said the shipment has commenced.
I called Orbitz on the 7th, spoke to some clueless customer service representative who assured me that the package has been rerouted and I would receive a confirmation email. Next day, no confirmation email, and the UPS tracking still showed the tickets going to NJ. I called again on the 8th, and they had no record of my conversation with them on the 7th in their system. They then went ahead and changed my address, noted it in my file, sent me a confirmation email, and assured me the package with my paper tickets was rerouted. Of course when I check the next day on the UPS site, they are still going to NJ. I call again on the 8th, at least this time they had record of my convo on the 7th. This conversation basically said they can't reroute and don't know why I was told that. I asked if I could just cancel my tickets, and that was not an option. The only option he said was possible was to have the tickets sent back to the Orbitz office to be sent out then to Lithuania. I told him that time was thin, he understood and said the package should be there by Friday. To hedge my bets, I called the Vilnius airport to see if they could print my tickets, and was denied that as well. I got an email from Orbitz with the new tracking information showing it going back to their office and was told to call again on Friday.
Friday comes, they do not have the tickets, I call again, they told me to call again on Saturday/Sunday to see if they have received. I call again today (Sunday the 13th), was on hold while they were researching for an hour, was hung up on, and not called back. I called back about 30 min later, hoping they would email me something, and got someone that was doing research for me, and said he would call me back. Thankfully he did call me back, but best he could offer was to route me to the airlines and give me $50 credit off a future flight. I then saw that Delta owns KLM (the airline that this was booked under even though the flights themselves are operated by other carriers). I called Delta, had them switch my tickets into their system and they assured me there would not be a problem. I see that they are recorded in their system, but can't know for sure until the 16th if I will have problems when I try online check-in. If there is a problem then, I will have to go to the airport a day early just to make sure I have my tickets. I am going either way, but would hate to have to book last minute at much higher prices and also pay twice.
Also, no email back from Orbitz concerning my $50 credit off future services. I won't use them again anyway, $50 isn't worth the hours of international calls I have spent, plus all the aggrevation.
I am still psyched about Las Vegas, and this is just a bump in the road hopefully for a bracelet. I have sold off 25% of my action to friends, and hope for a nice payday for all of us.
Viva Las Vegas!
