Orbitz redemption and trip prep.

Yesterday started off disasterous.. I tried to check into my flights for today as I was told I could do, and was denied.. I called Orbitz and the airlines and no-one seemed to be able to help me.. My fiance saw how frustrated I was after dealing with the flight situation for over a week, and she offerred to help.. She also called Orbitz and the airlines on my behalf and got the same run-around.. The airlines said they could do nothing, the problem was on Orbitz end and Orbitz would do nothing at that point and kept saying to call the airlines.. After 4 hours of this, I finally gave up and rebooked my flight with another online agency for tonight.. I will have a night in Frankfurt Germany before flying to Chicago and getting to Vegas 7:30ish PM local time on Friday.. If you read my last blog, this is on top of the problems I had with my tickets being switched from e-tickets to paper tickets even though the website said it would be e-tickets, and given the run-around trying to get the paper tickets sent to me in Lithuania instead of my billing address in NJ..

After I booked the flight, I sat on some mixed game tables and PLO, and ran up some quick profit which made me feel better about things, even though I still had a bitter taste about my flight not being dealt with properly and no refund even being offerred.. Then something better happened.. A few days ago, my blog was actually noticed by the PR department of Orbitz.. I got a phone call from Lynn in their customer relations department, which is different than the customer support group.. She was apologetic from the beginning and promised me to try to make things right.. She dealt with my old tickets that I already rebooked on, and rescheduled a flight for me to visit my family in middle of October.. This works out great, since I am getting married in Lithuania at the end of August and we want to have a second party for our friends, family, and friends of my family that can't make the long trip out here for a variety of reasons.. Besides this, she called the hotel on my behalf to make sure there would be no problems with my later check-in.. Lastly, she gave me a sizeable credit for future travel for my aggreviation and loss due to the problems.. Lynn, if you are reading this, thank you for your help, you are a true asset to the Orbitz corporation and wish I was dealing with you from the beginning.. Your understanding of my situation as well as your actions were very much appreciated and left me feeling good about my pending trip..

So now, will just play a few quick cash games, and finish up packings.. Its 2pm in Lithuania and I have to leave for the airport in about 4 hours.. I also want to get in some quality time with my 10 week old puppy who I will miss dearly, but not as much as my Fiance who supports me in what I want to do and whom I love dearly..

I arrive in Frankfurt, Germany tonight around 9pm local time, and have booked a cheap hotel there for the overnight stay.. I fly out from Germany tomorrow morning at 8:30am, so if I have a little bit of energy, I may go see the city a bit even though it will probably be kind of dead near the hotel I am staying.. If not, I try to get some quick online sessions at night and get a good night rest for the day tomorrow.. Tomorrow I will arrive in Chicago around 10:30am there time.. I have a few friends there, but I think they will all be working, so I will most likely just chill at the airport and hopefully find some good pizza.. I won't be leaving Chicago until 5:40pm tomorrow, so I have time to either play some poker (actually enough time for a tourney, but would just play some cash games), read a book, or rest up..

Finally I will arrive in Las Vegas at 7:30pm.. The entire door to door journey will take me over 35 hours.. I hope not to be too tired because of resting at a hotel during one of the layover, but I will see how things go.. Unfortunatley, I am going to miss the $500 HORSE tournament at Binnions I planned to play as a warm-up, but look forward to the $3k HORSE at the Rio on Saturday.. I hope to meet up with P5'ers, some of my horses, and some of my other friends that will be out there.. Friday night when I get there, I plan on just relaxing at the Riviera Hotel where I am staying, maybe degen in some casino games or if they have a poker room there, play some cash games and try to be in good condition for the weekend.. Sunday morning the plan is playing some par 3 golf, then either day 2 of the HORSE tourney or another tourney..

Viva Las Vegas!
