So I had another nice lil session and ended up at the cashout with $1360, uptick $1160. I originally bought into the tournament, but got way to aggressive to fast and INSTA busted, so i went to the cash game.
here are some key hands im digging
Hand#1
im in the big blind with 9/10 suited, it limptowns, so i make it $20, i get 2 calls, one from an older man, and another from "jordan" a younger player who loves to play flops and is pretty tricky . so flop comes down 4/9/A, im first to act, so i put out a $25 feeler ace bet, the old man calls, jordan thinks then calls me,(i put jordan on complete air here), the turn is another Ace, (4/9/A/A), i check, old man insta checks, and jordan thinks then checks, (now what im thinking here is that the old man could very well have me beat, with anything besides ace), river is a harmless 3, (4/9/A/A/3) i insta check, old man checks, jordan bets out $75, I think for about 10 seconds, as to why the bet is so high, is this a "pretending to be an obvious bluff, but i really have it?" or "is this just a you look weak ill bet big bet", i decide that hes bluffing and make the call, old man folds, jordan flips over 4/10 offsuite and i take the pot down. Hero.
Hand#2
Now this hand here is veryyyyyyyyy weird, i thought i played it great, because my type of style is to play always different then player expects and play in a way to get the player thinking the wrong thing. so here we go.
i limp in 4th position, it continues to limp around till , tight girl in the BB(who plays OK at best, but really tight-weak) makes it $15, i call with my 3/4 suited, as do about 3 other ppl, the flop comes down a lil miracle of 10/3/3 tight girl in big blind is first to act, she thinks, then looks really serious as she calculates to make it $60, it comes around to me, i think for a minute, and i can already here the other players saying things like "watch here it comes," so i count out $160, and there like "oh $160 totallllllll" so i put 2 more chips on and raise her $162. It folds around to her, where she thinks literally for about 4 minutes, then goes on about how "well if i call this , i know what hes gonna do on the turn" , so i say to her, "here ill show you what the turn is gonna look like" and i stack up all my chips and push them right to the line. (im then told by dealer no angling), she then decides to call, thinking that i am "trying to push her around cause shes a girl" (this is why my huge overbet with obviously the winner is such a smart play), the turn then comes a 5 (10/3/3/5), she then tries to think forever, in hopes that i will slow down be scared and check, i let her know this wont happen by saying " here is where you check, then i move all in , and you fold" (again told no angling), she says "well now ill check", then i proceed to push all in, she then deliberates for about 3 mins, decides i have A/10 and calls off the rest of her $265!!!! with one pair of KINGS, i flip over 3/4 the river is a 6 and i rake the pot.
*thing that pisses me off about this hand is everyone can not believe i called $15 preflop with 3/4. well lets break down that play then
-*I have position. *She is a tight-weak player i can outplay 7/10 times, *She will not fold a big pair, *if i flop big, for $15 i get a chance to win her $475 stack, *This is a fucking cash game, not tournament.
Hand #3 (brett and random friend)
Im in the big blind, the table has lost all the retarded scared nits, now we have a real cash game where every flop is $20 just to see the flop, deeper stacks and looser players.
everyone limps in , i have been raising 20-30 constantly with huge hands and a few slop hands that i show, just to increase action, i decide to make it $25 with my 10/10, bretts friend, and brett decide to call(brett just reloaded $200 after losing last pot), flop comes down 10/8/3, i bet out $35, knowing that brett will call on that board, him and his buddy both do make the call, the turn is a K (10/8/3/k) i decide to check, to appear weak, and totally give off any thought of a set, bretts friend checks, and brett bets $50 like he hit the king, I call (but i do it quick and make it look to brett like "im calling cause i dont believe you"), the river comes another king so the board is 10/8/3/k/k , i bet out $200, which would put brett all in for $120, brett decides to call after 15 seconds, i flip the boat, he folds. * what i think i did hear was present the illusion to bret that i had a/j or a/q, with my follow through bet, then i check the turn, brett bets, i call it looks like have a draw , then on river it looks like complete bluff , so brett likely called with just the 8. i rake another nice pot.
*here is my favourite hand of the night, in which it shows how me playing correct, i avoided getting stacked when about 90% of players here would go ABSOLUTELY BROKE.
I look down at 9/9, i bump it to $25, i get called from my buddy on the left who has been claiming things like (im gonna win 10 in a row, i already got 4, blah blah,) and basically calling EVERY bet preflop With ANYTHING, it folds around to a shorter stack who goes all in for $82, well this comes back to me and im thinking, * i know i got this guy beat, at the most he has like a/q or a/j, but if i flat call then i gotta contest with my buddy who will call and has been running WHITE HOT, so i decide to make it $172 total, this gets my buddy on the left to fold, because basically without a real hand, calling $172 preflop is just dumb ("isolation " play), so im heads up and the player flips over K/10(lol) VS 9/9 the flop is a beauty fucking J/J/9, yep i flop the boat, he draws dead(almost), i win the pot. heres the kicker! Had i just flat called, my buddy on left would have flat called with J/8, so you can guess on that flop we would battle, so the turn comes 8 (J/J/9/8) giving him the BIGGER FULL HOUSE, on the turn, and the way he and i play, we would have had it all in right there, me with a full house, thinking only 2 hands that beat me are j/9 and j/8 (obv j/j, but LOL to that) basically he has $1000 and i have $1100, he would have basically stacked me for $1000 on that very hand. * this is why making the correct play and not being a little scared money cash player saved me $1000.
more to come.....
