Wein's Coaching Profile[return to coaching directory]
Message From Wein
I have been working with players for three years, and have seen a lot of success from my players. My players have won everything from the warm-up and brawl to to the $10 superstack and the 3rebuy. On the week of 3/13 I had a student finish 3rd in the UB 500, while two others took down the 42k and the 3r, respectively. I am extremely proud of my students, and will brag about them before I ever brag about myself ;)
I have a Master's Degree in Special Education and have spent my entire life trying to use different methods of teaching effectively. I pride myself on being able to adapt to each student and finding the best way to make them learn.
As for my results - I have final tabled the Sunday million twice, chopping it once for $182,000 and getting 3rd in it another time for almost $129,000. I also have final tabled the 200k on UB twice, with a 1st for over $46,000 and a third for over $18,000. Even though I am known for making it through big field Sunday tournaments, I have also won the 100r on Stars on three seperate occasions and definitely feel at home at the highest stakes as well. I have over 400k in profit and have final tabled every Sunday Major besides the FTP Mulligan (which i never play).
I am a former instructor and owner of www.tournamentpokeredge.com, and truly enjoy working with other people. I find that working with people eager to learn keeps me fresh and in love with the game.

I would recommend Wein to anyone. I have ran through a few sessions with Wein. I had never shipped a tournament on stars before and just a day after our session I ship the $3 turbo and go onto 7th in the 25k. Wein has a impeccable knowledge of the game of poker and he will do whatever it takes to make you better. He is driven as a coach and a person and only wants to see his students succeed and will fix any flaws along the way. |

I have done multiple hand history reviews with Wein. For where Im at now its been very effectivly. He was pretty clear and concise and helped explain things to my level (im a micro guy). He didn't get overly complicated and I feel like after a few sessions has been able to get a feel for me as a player. At the moment I am hoping to be able to get a live session (when my poker and life bankroll allows), but sending him a good hand history every month or so has been great for my game and very affordable. |

I've known Wein for many years. He is a great friend and also is able to break down hands and narrow ranges very well. He is extremely trust worthy and will do anything to make his students better. |

Wein's training videos on TPE have been key to my development as a beginning poker player. His presentation is thorough and concise, he manages to stay interesting throughout a long session, and he is genuine and understandable when explaining his thought process as it relates to specific hands, and to tournament poker as a whole. |

working with jon for last 3 months has really turned my game around. the analisys of a couple of hand histories showing spew spots and where i was missing value was big. the live sweats have been great, they provide me an opportunity to ask questions about how to play different spots where i have been struggling.jon's a great guy to talk to and definetly knows what he's talking about and relates it very well to me so that i understand the thought process throughout the hand. can't say enough about how much i have improved over a short period of time. i look forward to working with jon over the next year and climbing the mtt ranks. |

Besides being the most handsome man in poker Jon is also a great coach. I've done a live sweat session with him using Skype and Mikogo and his post-hand analysis was always very well thought out and made easy to understand. Jon's definitely an easy guy to talk to, has no ego at all, and has the mind of a very good teacher. If you invest some money in a few hours of coaching with him you're guaranteed to get it back on the tables. |

I can highly recommend Wein as a tournament coach. His coaching style is clear and his knowledge about poker is amazing. He can turn anyone from a novice who wants to become professional ; to a professional who wants to take their game to the next level. He turned my game around completely and helped me in spots where I never knew i needed help in. Wein helped me tremendously on ranging my opponents and now as my game keeps improving, I find myself getting deeper in tournaments much more often! I think his coaching is personally worth every penny. No poker training site can do what a great coach can do. Wein is a great coach! GL to everyone who invests in his coaching, it will pay off big time! |
