  4. Another disappointing finish at 11th this time.
Had a pretty good tourney overall then got this hand and wasnt quite sure how to play it. Villian was a pretty good player from what i could tell. He was opening a lot and was on the button. i Had three bet pretty frequently in the last couple rounds both times exxposed with j10 and q 2. so i ddint really want to 3bet fold .Maybe u guys can recommend a better way to play it, i really just didnt know what to do.

Not sure if u can make out this hh. pokerstars ones come out fine but on merge they show up like this

  5. UPDATE FROM YESTERDAY:

What a fucking day. I re-upped for 50 dollars on stars played about 14 tourneys and was broke in 2 hours. Headed on to Merge Played and fairly well for most of the day, got deep in a couple, 2 ft's and an 11th. but just made some bad plays at certain times. Busted 8th on both ft's. Lost with qq<1010, and top pair to middle set, which i could have avoided. I feel like i was playing well 90% of the day. But I felt like a donkey in other ways. I made a huge missclick call on an all in that sent me from 5th to 65th/70. I misread a board while calling an all in thinking i had an A high flush draw. And I played like scared money in the 33$ $7500 Guaranteed so that i could secure a min cash that would essentially be about a 100% br increase. Anyways it was a frustrating day just because I felt like i played good and even ran good but still couldn't ship one. I am confident moving forward though. I just need have one good day and Ill have a decent roll again. If I have to give my notice on the first so be it, Id rather just keep the 1200 dollars rent and try to grind it into 5000 by months end and move. Anyways, I feel like I am rambling now. Good results to come in the next couple days I can feel it. gl all. oh yeah btw totals for yesterday. -50 on stars(officially busto) and about +$5.00 on MERGE for a whopping 174$. I know it seems hopeless but I've worked with less before in less time.

  6. It seems as though you are trying to force it playing the $33 buy in. You may get lucky, but more often than not your going to devastate your bankroll--especially if you are playing scared money. I would just stay away from these games. Bankroll management seems to be your biggest enemy right now, so stick to the lower stakes games. If you are trying to rush your success, it's not going to happen.

Keep at it though, we're all rooting for you.

I know it was a ridiculous shot, I got sucked in cuz it was a 7500 guarantee. On merge these days I am lucky to play a 3000 guarantee for 30$.

Was cruising along in the $4 rebuy until this:

i only had 19 hands with villian but he was 3 betting at 33.3% and I raised on the button. I still think its a good play. what do u guys think? btw no one has told me if they can read my merge hh's. should i even bother posting them?

I am confused at this. Why is it so shitty?...eitehr way i would only be moving there to get practice on my live game and I would probly just be playing 1/2...

    Anyways GOOD UPDATE FOR ONCE:

Played a 22$freezeout on carbon and SHIPPPPPEDDDDD ITTTTTT!!! for a cool 1100. Had to withdraw $200 for groceries and such, but BR is at $1000. I don't think I've played so aggressively in my life, I was on a fuckin mission lol. anyways im done for the night gl all.

  10. Congrats man! Glad to hear it but don't go moving up in stakes too quickly. You got what you wanted now don't get too greedy. Keep up the good work and keep grinding.

Congrats on the win, I think you should probably withdraw abit more though and leave yourself like $500 on merge, 2 reasons for this is that nobody knows if or when the US doj might crack down on merge and second you then have half you first goal in the bank and you could even use $100 to reload on stars if you wanted.

    Anyway good luck.

  12. Keep it up OP, and like previous posters said, keep the buy-ins to low amounts until your BR has increased significantly, or you'll just end up broke.

I took your advice and withdrew 900 leaving me with a 300 br. I think that will help encourage me not to jump up in stakes right away and just bank money instead. I cant tell you how many times I've gotta a couple grand broll only to squander half of it in one day with $100-200 buyins. I have so much to learn in terms of strategy, but just as much or even more to learn about what it takes to be a professional. I may have survived the last year off money from playing poker but it wasn't luxurious and I still went broke twice and had to borrow money here and there. I was and still am the furthest thing from a "professional poker player". This is why I believe that i have a shot though. I have basically been gambling the last year with no regard for proper BRM, and a total lack of volume and desire to improve or read about the game. If I can proceed now and keep the same hunger i have had recently and continue to be motivated i really think I can take a serious run and possibly succeed at this. I am lazy by nature but i don't think i have ever wanted anything this bad and I'm just finally realizing it. As for re-upping on Stars, I am going to put on 150 and try it again, but i cant tell you how many times I have taken money off carbon to put it on stars just to lose 20-30 tournies straight and be down 500$ in a day or two lol. I feel insane continuing to deposit on stars, but the way i look at it, if i cant win on stars Ill never be able to make as much money as i want to make this career worth while. Therefore, I will keep trying until i hit a 5 figure score, hopefully I dont go broke trying lol.

  15. nice job shippin the 20 freezeout bro. hopefully tonight goes well 4 u. as many above mentioned stay low and u will be fine. scared money.... :) not to mention every stake higher is less donks and more regs. I wish merge had more like 3, 5 r/a for this reason. glgl
  16. Quick update from yesterday. played about 9 mtts. ftd one for 3rd but my kk got busted by a9o. It really sucked too cuz i had the chip lead and was playing very well. I lost half my stack ona bluff tho when i three bet pre got flatted. I barreled a q 4 2 rainbow flop or som, ehting. guy floats with absolutely nothing. k falls on turn i check he checks. then i shove him all in on the river on a bluff (dont remember what i had) and he calls and flips k 9 off. Either way i thought it was an odd float since i had been 2 and 3 barreling every flop everytime with anything anyways. So i dont see what floating with k 9 did. I think reraising me in pos on flop made a bit more sense but w/e i lost a big pot. 2 hands later same guy busts me pre kk<a9o. overall not a bad day since i ended up +98$. Im back to the grind wish me luck and gl to all.

He probably noticed that you were 2 or 3 barreling with anything, so a float makes sense there. If he know's air is a huge possibility in your range on the flop, then you check the turn back, it looks really really fishy.

Be conscious of your image at the table. It sounds like this guy has picked up on you being agg and is picking you off with floats. I think him checking back on the turn gives away that he knows you will would likely not call a turn bet (so he has you on air), and he wants you to hang yourself on the river.

That's just my input there. Otherwise keep up the good work. It's nice to see some success right off the bat.
  19. Hello everybody,

I sort of made a dumb decision and decided to take a costly trip up north to visit family. Aside from the 300 i spent i didnt grind friday or saturday because of it. I put in a mini session last night and I ended up -89$. Overall I just feel like it was a terrible decision to come up here. 2 days left until rent day. I have almost enough to cover the entire rent and the gf got a job last week and gets paid on the 3rd. Hopefully I can talk to the landlord and work something out. I realized no one is going to rent to me with out a letter of employment. I had a friend of a relative write me a fake one last time and i dont think they would appreciate another call about my fake job with him. Anyways, up early and ready to grind. gl all!

  20. GL dude. Just work something out with him. I'm sure he'd rather get paid in full three days late than endure the hassle of having to kick you out and find a new tenant. Just make sure you are very communicative about your situation. People who are owed money just don't like to be left in the dark/blown off. You'd be surprised at how willing people are to work with you if you just let them know what's going on.

  21. did you know you have 10 days after the 1st to pay your rent , under the ontario tenant act. But dont make it an every month thing
  22. law 101 LOL
  23. Ft'd a 10k guarantee on stars. Came in with the chip lead and ran jj into kk for 80% of my stack. I would of folded to anyone else at the table too, but this fucking moron just kept shoving all in on my raises for huge ridiculous overbets. I just feeel so fucking demoralized right now, it wouldnt be a big deal usually but fuck i need that money bad.... cashed for 139$ for 9th which almost puts me at even on the day. It just feels like everytime i ft on stars I cant finish......fuck my life. I hope I can ship something tommorrow. goodnight all

  27. Better North than South. Oshawa is one of those crazy places though, go one minute driving from a good area, and you are in an area that looks like crap.

Good luck on your goal. I would recommend to throw in some of the smaller sng's, like the 18s, 27s or 45s. Smaller fields will help you cash more often, and feel less frustrated overall.

Bang on about oshawa. Luckily I live in one of the good pockets and I dont really want to move. As for the sngs, I agree they would be less frustrating but at the same tim ei get no satisfaction from winning one. As much as I like money, I like the feeling of satisfaction that comes along with besting a field of a couple hundred to a couple thousand people even more. It is a feeling that is so satisfying to me, I have yet to find something that even comes close to measuring up.

Not yet. Didn't play yesterday. I spoke with the landlord and bought myself til the 7th. That leaves me 2-3 days to grind and cashout in time to pay him. After withdrawing 900 off carbon and redepositing 125 onto stars. I am left with $140 on stars and $260 on carbon.(I feel guilty for spewing off a couple 33$ as of late not rolled for it...) With expenses paid i got a couple hundred left in the bank. Back on the grind full force today. LETS DO THISSSSSS. GL ALL.
