I wanted to run this by people and see what they think and give them a warning on a guy named MNBASSMASTER. I started staking him with a very small roll, as he won things he would pay back makeup and then we would chop the profits 50/50. Most times when he won I would leave a portion of my profits with him to increase his roll. we started with $200 dollars and by the time black friday hit we had a bankroll of $3000. For example if he won $1000 dollars he would get $500 and I should get $500, but most times I said keep $300 to increase your roll. After black friday, I wanted my money back because a $3000 dollar roll is not enough for live tourney action and I had never agreed to do live. Now he won't give me my money back saying that he earned it. Tell me your thoughts and any ideas to get my money back?

By the way, I gave hime bonuses everytime he won something of significance. Say he won $1000 dollars I would usually give him an additional $50 to $100 even when he didn't cover makeup!

Ok he seems to have left out and changed some very improtant information.
First of all I had $2200 on pokerstars after black friday. I was living in Vegas at the time, so we agreed to keep $1000 for some live small tournies and I sent him back the other $1200. After blanking a few tournies I had about $750 left and moved back to MN for the summer. and didnt have a job at the time so planned on grinding some poker for the summer.
2 weeks after getting back I get a text, "hey man i need the rest of that money"... I am like I cant do it right now thats my poker roll. So a few weeks go by of him name calling, harassment and threats . then his brother who was a friend of mine, says hey my brother made me pay that $600 he says you owed him, so can you pay me back sometime? Im like really?? seems like a cool brother! so I felt bad and gave my friend $200 for the time being. Then a week or so later I get another text from backer saying he needs $600 now or hes coming to my house. So after all the lies,name calling ,harassment and threats I stopped talking to both of them. Over the course of the time I was backed by this guy I made him thousands of dollars. So I dont care about a few hundred he thinks is still his.

Sounds like you owe either $550 (based on best case of this story), $750 (if the small live stuff was agreed to), $800 (if the small live stuff was not agreed to but the story about paying OP's brother $200 is correct), or $1,000 (worst case scenario). What was previously made for the backer is not at issue imo, so it seems its one of those numbers depending on what story is correct. So minimally something is owed in terms of how backing works, its just a matter of how much it is.

I am by no means arbitrating this, just stating how I see where the money range is depending on which story is true.

You started saying how the money was yours and I had a feeling I was about to get screwed, the bottom line is you owe me money! However you want to try and play it off, you owe me! the point of this thread is to let people know you can not be trusted. I just know for the future to get a contract with anyone, even someone who is really good "friends" with your brother. Obviously $800 dollars is worth losing a great friend over for you????

Yes, i was pretty excited to see the new undertitle! the worse part about this guy is he asked my bro if I would stake him and my bro says he is super honest guy and would never fuck anyone, and when I tell him it's pretty shitty to lose a good friend over this, he says my bro was not that good of friend and only used him to go fishing in his boat?? Yes, it was so horrible. I gave you bonuses even when you still had makeup and I let you cash out when you needed a little extra cash, you had it real rough.
