Great joke,King,on ur own expenses.Considering that when men in UK are mostly in shape then i've never seen so many fat women in my life.Haven't visited US tho :)
-
Tylos,
US is in a different league to everywhere else (except Pacific Islands, special case though) for fat women. Admittedly, we have a huge number of immigrants from the Baltics, never seen a fat one. You are a bit spoiled for nice women where you are. -

You realize people say British food sucks because it is bland and boring? Taking extreme ends of other cultures doesn't do much to help your cause. Snail doesn't really appeal to me but I can see how it would be good, I do like shell fish. Don't see what is wrong with frog legs at all. I read this post before I went out tonight and saw a gutted frog at a stand and almost bought it, but place was empty and a different stand with pork leg and rice was jam packed with people so I ate there thinking it would be good (was standard). India is basically the exact opposite of British food, full of spices and flavor. Absolutely fucking delicious. I've never seen rats in India but place is dirt f'ing poor so I'm sure they eat them. I was offered mice for breakfast in a village in Laos. That is what happens in a place with no running water or source of income. They eat what they can. Hell, guy I am staying with right now is an Indonesian who was picking up insects in the room last night, putting the lighter to them and eating them! His father also ate his three dogs while growing up. I wont eat either but Indonesian food still has more flavor than UK. No need to even try to defend Italian food
British food is too plain. Talking about "weird" foods in other places doesn't change that
like i said there are many cultures in the UK and the traditional UK food is not what it was and its really very diverse and is a mixture of other cultures food now -
I dont think our food has changed much mate, in the last couple decades indian, thai, chinese etc food has become more popular and if im honest it does make our food taste more bland but is there anything more enjoyable than a good old family roast dinner on a sunday?

The food from countries you mentioned are way more interesting and flavorful, especially in the case of italy and france...
So why not be helpful and advise us in general who has worse food than the UK, then we can all be sure not to go there?
Nothing personal, and honestly I believe it could be important for some of those who are considering moving abroad... -
Edited By: buffyslayer1 May 10th, 2011 at 08:04 PMI consider all those foods english now tbh, my small town has 2 Indians, 2 Chinese, Bangladeshi, Malaysian, a french restaurant, an itallain, and a steakhouse all on the high street.Originally Posted by vil1ain

I cook every night for our family and we have what people ITT consider english once a week. Which of course a sunday roast :D
Its a unfounded myth the UK food is bad, hell go to any town in the UK and you will find real good restaurants. -
Actually given the original thread creation it might be more informative to not concentrate on food or weather but would it be easy to move to the UK to play poker, so here goes :

1) Renting a Place to live > if you have cash then there are plenty of landlords willing to accept your money which will give you a UK address, I even know people to rent you a room to get started. Once in the said address you can obtain electricity and gas bills without any major hassle or credit checks, even a UK land line can be obtained in your name.
2) Bank Account > Going into the bank and speaking face to face with a customer service rep will probably be helpful and you should be able to get a very basic account set up almost instantly. If that doesn't work we have option like a prepaid card such as MyCashPlus, it is mastercard that can be funded through the post office and many other outlets and includes UK account number which you can have wages etc paid into.
Once you have the above stuff you should be good to go for playing online poker.
Thats the easy bit, i dont know the immigration laws but I do know it takes ages for people to be deported. -
Feel for the people that have to up and leave there country to play a game they love, sad really but sure it has to be done,we have heard what LAB RAT and FRANK1THE1TANK are doing, what about the rest of the big name players,,MakeMeMaster??Never heard of him/her.......

Someone mentioned the weather sucked and I thought it was relivant that the food is not good there also... Maybe not important in your mind as far as relocating somewhere but I for one like good food and I'm sure there are others that do too...
FTR, I spent 2 weeks in jolly ole england and lost 7lbs...
In closing.... England is awesome, people are great, and would be cool place to relocate for online poker if you dont mind rain and you have some weight issues... -
Sorry to hijack this fascinating discussion, but...
Myself and most people I've talked to seem to staying in the US at least through the WSOP, and then reevaluating after July. Some have moved to Canada, Central and South America, and Europe, whereas some are considering moving to one of these places after the WSOP. Most people I've talked to have a vague idea what direction they're going to take post-WSOP, but they also maintain that these plans could change if they were to bink something significant this summer. I have no idea what I'm going to do post-WSOP. I might consider moving somewhere in Central or South America for a few months, but as of now I'm planning on staying in the US. -
Thanks for bringing this thread back on track jmaster, lol at all these dolts getting all defensive about food, stop derailing the thread. with that being said central/south america is probly the best choice in regards to weather, price, food, and ease of getting temporary residency. Panama sounds real ballin, costa rica and uruguay too. malta too tho...

You gave up the Tony Montana pad, white couches and all?

I just got back from Europe. Anyone not moving to Spain is blowing it.
Although Im like the masses waiting until after WSOP and probably going to Costa Rica or Panama City or Peru -
Spain is regulating online poker anywhere from now to a year from now apparently. It will be just like france and italy and shut off to the rest of the world.
-
do you have any links to back this up? I see this speculation here and on other sites but I would like to know more about it. I am >50% moving there soon and still will if it is likely to not take effect until 2012.

I think for those who don't mind, south east asia like thailand, the philippines, etc is an awesome place to play in. Think beaches, laid back, asian babes, and your dollars get soooooo much farther here since the cost of living is much, much lower.

Having looked at places like costa rica, caribbean, etc.. panama city appeared to be the most "first world" of all the other places. Crime was lower, infrastructure was great, and panama city is beautiful imo. Quite happy I chose here thus far, I still agree it has to be best but obv it's all about personal preference so to each his own.
