  20. Spent my last day in Las Vegas worrying. Somehow I will have to convince pokerstars and FTP to change my address, because I used my US bank account to make that very first deposits to both rooms a long time ago. Ever since then I have been listed as a player from the United States, although I have never actually played online in this country. God, this sucks to bad!

    Also went to play a nightly $125 tournament in Aria, got no hands, busted within two hours. Have an early morning flight outta here back to Moscow.

    Yes, that certainly compensates very nicely for me being locked out of my entire bankroll and banned from tournaments despite me being a foreign resident.

  29. back to betting the horses.:) at least that is still legal in the US.
  30. No person engaged in the business of betting or wagering may knowingly accept, in connection with the participation of another person in unlawful Internet gambling
    (1) credit, or the proceeds of credit, extended to or on behalf of such other person (including credit extended through the use of a credit card);
    (2) an electronic fund transfer, or funds transmitted by or through a money transmitting business, or the proceeds of an electronic fund transfer or money transmitting service, from or on behalf of such other person;
    (3) any check, draft, or similar instrument which is drawn by or on behalf of such other person and is drawn on or payable at or through any financial institution; or
    (4) the proceeds of any other form of financial transaction, as the Secretary and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System may jointly prescribe by regulation, which involves a financial institution as a payor or financial intermediary on behalf of or for the benefit of such other person.

    The case will absolutely come down to this verbiage. It is posted on pokerstars.com for christ's sake. Of course it will come down to this verbiage. And, from what I've read on here, the term stare decsis comes into play, which is the legal term for precedent. If the Supreme Court ruled in the Brady case that poker is a game of skill, and not gambling , the case sounds absolutely laughable, unless: 1)the US Attorney ammends the indictement to allege a more general bank fraud outside of gambling, or 2)The US Based Casinos and their Political Influence get a federal judge to break precedent. Any thoughts on that? If poker isn't gambling, according to the Supreme Court, where is the case?

    I've done some more research, and I cannot find anything about a US Supreme Court ruling on anything called "Brady," or any federal case defing poker as a game of skill. So, if this federal case law exists and i just cant find it, i still dont see where the crime is. However, if federal case law does not exist (defining poker as either a game of skill or gambling), then it seems that the entire case would depend on a Federal Judge's ruling on whether or not poker is considered gambling (so i guess it's for for nothing that UB/AP offers "casino games" such as slot machines which are purely gambling)

    Here is what makes it messier. Goto this link: http://www.casinoaffiliateprograms.c...olorado-court/

    In my efforts to find a federal ruling on whether or not poker is gambling, I did find this article on Colorado and other state courts ruling it is a game of skill. My understanding is these precedents may influence the federal judge, but a federal decision would have the state ruling "kicked" and the state court decisions would be rendered useless.

    Nobody has the political clout to pull this off, so this is all going away quietly, one way or another. Harry Reid, Harrah's and Caesar's aren't just using their federal influence to take down these industry pioneers, and infringe on the personal freedom of hundreds of thousands of Americans in doing so, they are also trying to get the feds to overturn the well thought out rulings of all least three highly competent state judges, not only alienating our personal freedoms, but also the state political processes. Good luck Senator Reid, if you can pull this off, I'll be impressed.

    Oh, but there is so much more. If you look closely at the verbiage above, it is "cut off your nose to spite your face." The authors of this bill should be investigated by a federal investigator for defrauding America for their own personal gain. My interpretation of the bill above says, "it's OK to offer poker to Americans, you just can't use our banks. You see, instead of allowing electronic deposits and withdrawals in order to track who is earning money and hold them liable for taxes, which is what we should do as congress people, we are instead making it difficult for the gaming companies to do business here, at the expense of our citizens and our tax revenue, and for the gain of our political constituents who put us in office." unless somebody else can offer another interpretation of this verbiage, I don't see how it benefits America, or Americans in any way, and it legislation introduced and approved (snuck into a port bill) purely for corporate gain and personal gain on behalf of the person who introduced it (Reid presumably??) and the corporations who introduced it. There is the real fraud and the real criminals, and it's pretty clear to me.....
