Just got an email from Cardrunners saying they had an illegal intrusion and things like my password, IP address and email address could have been compromised. Do none of these sites have proper encryption or protection? I am shocked after the Sony debacle.
-
I got the same email and here is what mine says:
Dear NevadaRick,
Last night we identified and stopped an illegal intrusion of the CardRunners servers.
While no customer credit card or financial information was compromised, we have confirmed that the following customer information related to your account may have been compromised:
Email Address
Encrypted Password
IP Address
Out of an abundance of caution, we have forced your password to be reset. If you use your CardRunners username or password for other unrelated services or accounts, we recommend that you change them as well.
CardRunners will never contact you in any way asking for any personally identifiable information so please be vigilant in not providing such information to anyone that represents themselves as working for CardRunners.
We regret any inconvenience this causes and want to ensure you that we will continue to work to ensure that additional measures are taken to protect your private information.
Regards,
CardRunners Support -

Looks like someone hacked PTR too!
"Dear Valued PokerTableRatings.com Member,
We have reason to believe that PokerTableRatings.com has been targeted as part of a recent attack on poker websites. For your security we want to bring this matter to your attention. We have addressed the issue and are actively improving security on our servers to prevent future intrusions.
As a result of this malicious activity, user information for a minority of users may have been compromised. No credit card information is at risk as we use Authorize.net, a secure third party payment processor, to handle all of our member's credit card transactions.
PTR takes your security and privacy very seriously. Although passwords are encrypted, we highly recommend you change your password on your next visit to PokerTableRatings.com. The password can be changed on your "My PTR" page.
We deeply regret this has taken place and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We will continue to work diligently to protect your personal information.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@pokertableratings.com.
Sincerely,
The PTR Team" -
I got the same email from PTR. Wonder if it's legit or
some phishing scam like all the bogus emails I get from
PayPal. -
I set up a dummy account for most of the fluff poker extras. It has been compromised. Password and secret question changed. Yahoo still trying to figure out if I am me since I used all random info. Not linked to any payment processors, cc's or banks tho, thanks goodness. Pretty upsetting given everything else that sux in online pokers nowadays.
* Hope extra security measures are taken going foward in any regulation that may come to fruit. Paying "extra" for something the site should have in place is lol scu/ammy imo.
getting tons of gambler emails in my irl account also :( *** off to changed sec ?'s and pw's I guess just to be safez...
