Why not split the strategy forums into cash/MTTs?
-
I won't speak for the admins here, but I don't think there is the demand for a cash game forum since there really isn't much discussion.
P5s is mostly a tournament player's site. Oddly enough, I make my money playing non-NLHE cash games and its what I spend 90%+ of my poker time playing, but love P5s because of its forum simplicity and its been my home for awhile. -
I agree that the simplicity of the forum is attractive...especially in the face of certain other forums that have lost real strategy talk in a glut of BBV4Lifer crossover trolls that go unmoderated while posters get banned for bluntness.
But anyway....if you build it they will come would be my advice to the admins. It wouldn't be that hard to track the top online cash players each month as well... -

cash game forums are more important than the new live forum imo -
Edited By: wackyJaxon Sep 25th, 2011 at 07:21 PMI would say the Live forum is more important since p5s has more Americans on the site at the moment than anyone else. Many Americans are playing live, and the forum was very popular during the WSOP. I would benefit myself from a Cash Forum, but the forum would most likely turn out like the High Stake forum did and die fairly quickly. I just don't see the admins going in this direction. If we saw alot more live strategy discussion in both PD and Live forums, then who knows. By splitting it now, I just see it diluting the existing forums instead of adding benefit. There can still be good live discussions if people would talk about it more in those 2 forums.Originally Posted by sw53ens

I'm not sure if the 'sleep easy' was sarcastic, but assuming it was, was just telling him as it is. I know the Grifter is one that would rather here the truth than for me to placate him and say great idea if I didn't think it would happen or work if it did come to fruition. -
lol yeah.

I think a live forum would also be a good idea. It will probably naturally contain more cash talk than the current general poker forum.
I still think a ranking leader board and forum for Online Cash is a brilliant cross marketing idea but I can see where the admins of a successful forum might not want to shake up their model to that extent. -
for the record, i don't think the high stakes forum would have died like it did if it wasn't for black friday...that forum was making a lot of posters come out and post in strategy threads that hadn't posted in quite a while
