Saw FouTights thread on first to ship 11r rush and thought i mght make a diff thread
Edited By: Deoxyribo Jan 9th, 2011 at 07:26 AM
so basically im thinking first to outright win a sunday major will win the prize.
the buyin will be set at $500 for now, but if people want higher or lower we can change that
late reg? pretty sure late reg wont affect anything so might as well have registration open until a contestant wins, thoughts?
what constitutes a sunday major...
this will be a toughie but im gonna keep it simple. These will be the tournies that will count for this contest
Sunday Brawl
Sunday 750k
Sunday Mulligan
Sunday Warmup
Sunday Million
Sunday Second Chance
those make most sense to me and i think those are the most prestigious to win.
ill hold i guess. if someone objects to me holding im sure i can get someone else to.
u can ship to deoxyribo (Torrance) on stars or dDeoxyribo (C) some girl (i change my avatar once in a while) on tilt
so yea, seems like a fun contest and could have lotsa sweats.
List of Players
1. Deoxyribo
2. smokrokflok
3. Bbbbbbb33
4. Jymaster11
5. Joey Capp -
can i sponser somebody for the contest since im not yet rolled for the sunday majors? but would love to toss in a little action on this

frank made a good post in 2+2 about the epic last longer how it's kind of unfair if someone gets to pick the best player so to speak instead of themselves

same thing as if i staked them and they entered themselves no? -
but then you're basically getting an advantage over others who are playing for themselves since you get to potentially put a "better" player than yourself into the contest, therefore improving your chances. It just seems kind of lame to have this, not to mention then every random can just pick a great player and add to their increased equity.
-
yeah but i wouldnt just be saying oh i pick bax or oh i pick moorman... it would actually be a player whom i personally knew... if you really want me to just go to them and have them enter it with teh money then i will.. but i was just throwing this out there for feed back...

btw none of the players are in top 100... but they are close! lol -
yeah i mean this probably works and you'd obviously have to have their permission, esp if a no chop rule is implemented or something

This would be a pain for the person running it. But, how about $100/wk until someone ships one? There couldn't be late registration, but something like 25% of the pool for FT'ing one of them and when someone ships one they get the whole pool. Kinda cool idea but might not be worth the trouble, IDK. Maybe the original idea would work better.

What is the point of this contest? If you win the milly for 200k are you really going to care about winning this contest for $2500?
-
if you need more motivation to win a major, you're doing it wrong imo. All good though, i hope one of you guys ships it in the new year
-
I think it's more just the competition than the money. Sure you can win 2.5k playing poker, but to be the first on the site to take down a sunday major in 2011? That's a one and only.
-
I'll be in but alot of kinks need to get worked out and if there is alot of interest in it.
Do you need to ship it outright? or can you chop the lions share/ lose and still win? What if you chop and are shorty and then go onto ship it? -
I mean if Im 3 handed in the mirry and 3rd is like 90k and I can chop for lke 160 ill probably chop... I think if you SHIP a major ( whether you chop or not, it should count).. even if you chop 3 handed people are still playing for the extra 30k in the middle..
-
i think you should make it an out right win in a major. if people want to chop cuz thier getting a hella good deal then by all means go ahead. im sure whatever your chopping for will be way more important than a $500 dollar contest (obv depends on how many people sign up but i dont think it will be enough money to change your mind on chopping a sunday million, dealing with hundreds of thousands)
