  1. been hearing more and more about players moving out of the US for online poker friendly countries, and it got me wondering, WHEN (not if) online poker comes back to the US, once you moved out, when would you move back? or would you move back at all? also wondering how long online poker would need to be cut off for you to consider moving out of the country. also, how long would online poker have to be cut off before you were forced to look at moving out of the country?

Lastly, how many people think that this thread is retarded for the sole fact that a FREE person in the US needs to move OUT OF THE COUNTRY to make a living in an industry that AMERICA friggin built in the first place??? FML!!
  2. I love it in Europe. Its possible I come back to the US, but it won't be dependant on whether online poker is regulated there or not. I think many people that wind up moving, might wind up liking the place they are better than where they grew up.
  3. wacky

i can understand that, especially since a lot of places i hear people moving to would be considered nice vacation areas, and who the hell ever wants to come back from a good vacation? lol

  4. If online poker comes back to the U.S. tomorrow, I'll move back tomorrow. But I'm enjoying living abroad right now and after my 6 month lease is up in Canada I'll be moving to Mexico or somewhere else(you can only live in Canada for 180 days a year without a visa). So I don't mind living elsewhere, but I'd rather be home where my family is and where I have most of my friends.
  5. Id consider it if it were more feasible, but the places that Id really want to live permanently (Canada, EU, Norway) are hard to gain permanent residence in, so most likely not.

Im actually considering a plan where I spend 5.x months in Canada and grind my ass off 60 hours/week, and then come back to the states for the rest of the year and just play some live cash games, maybe mix in some modest buy-in live tournaments on a much more relaxed schedule.
  6. thanks for the replies so far. its definitely interesting to hear what people are doing to make it through the US block out of online poker. its got to be hard to have to leave friends and family behind. good luck to all who have moved or are in the process of moving!! hopefully it works out for the best for ya!

hmmm...one more thought...would you move back if online poker was limited to the US only and was state-by-state? guess i should have thrown question in with the original post.

Im considering doing the same thing. I have a part time job here so I would like to grind for 6 months then just come back to the States and work for 6 months, it would be a good balance for me.
