Is this many deep runs standard?

    Well i was just making a blog post talking about my frustrations of how many deep runs i've made this month in MTTs and thought id share it here to see if these reults are standard. Now not included are my couple of Top 3s/wins i had (brag) but still, is THIS many 5th-20th place finishes standard over about 500 games?

    (1st place $$$)

    1) 3/5/11 $26 buyin 18th/1160 ($6,125)
    2) 3/20/11 $26 buyin 23rd/1159 ($6,120)
    3) 3/22/11 $26 buyin 11th/1629 ($8,625)

    stars:
    1) 3/8/11 $3+r buyin 19th/6220 ($10,247)
    2) 3/12/11 $27 buyin 10th/1113 ($3,785)
    3) 3/20/11 $2+r buyin 8th/1516 ($2,268)
    4) 3/21/11 $54 buyin 5th/688 ($5,174)
    5) 3/23/11 $44 buyin 8th/256 ($2,009)
    6) 3/27/11 $5+r buyin 8th/4725 ($8,965)
    7) 3/28/11 $22 buyin 16th/1166 ($3,965)

    I guess my real question is how many of these finishes per top 3 in muli thousand field tournies are you guys getting?

    Obviously I am thrilled because i've got to be doing something right to be getting deep this consistently and i have been screwed my fair share of times but i just want someone to hold me and tell me everything is going to be alright.

    I have def noticed ur SN in many lobbies on stars and the one time I open FTP you are deep there, too. I feel like when I had more time to play consistently, this would happen to me, too. Maybe shove wider deep and more rr's in pos deep. Obv your good, but maybe your endgame needs work? idk, but just a suggestion...pm sngwizard

    could be standard, could be running hot, could be that you arent playin aggresiv enuf late stages to build a stack

    would hav to see hand histories etc

    500 games is no where near enuf volume to get a true picture

    Ya i understand this is no kind of sample size. I love to think im playing good with my fair share or 3bet bluffs, its not like im nitting up waiting for FT. Yet im sure im not playing perfectly and could definetly use some work. I dunno i was just tilted at the time of making this post. I feel like i ran like god this month but used up all my run good on getting to final two tables.

    Oh well im definetly going to crush april so get ready world.

    i had 26 top 40 finishes in 800+ field size mtt's since my last final table. and i just shipped the 3r 40k on stars to break the streak about a week ago. hang in there your time will come

    Yea a long time ago I kinda came to the realization that once you get pretty deep there's not much you can do, sometimes you win flips, sometimes the bb wakes up w AA, Just a lot of bs and cooolers and suckouts so don't get to upset if you had big stack w like 20 ppl left and bust in 8th place. It happens...

    yea these runs are standard, most of mine are 13-7th though. Where did you guy get this info

    but in the real, stop keeping track of stats like this. Poker owes you nothing. Just keep grinding, keep playing well, take profitable spots and allow course to run thru itself. It'll eventually all come in a wave and you won't make a post saying OMG, am i running way above expectation b/c i have 4 top 3's with 5 1st place finishes. Throw out all bad emotions and just concentrate on things you can control.

    Yeah, pretty sure nobody will ever accomplish this let alone post it. If they do, congrats in advance on beating the laws of mathematics.

    5 1sts in 4 top 3s would be a hell of an accomplishment :-)
