  1. Bally Technologies, IGT, and William Hill were among the first three companies to receive an endorsement from Nevada officials to receive online poker licenses. Now, the Gaming Control Board will take up the issue on June 21. Read more:

    They're trying in CA. There seem to be a lot more interests at stake in CA, including Indian Tribes and card rooms.

    Not to mention the legislative process in general in CA is notoriously slow and cumbersome. Don't think this is the kind of thing that could pass through a referendum either.
     
  5. These licenses will cost a Fortune. I have to be a bit skeptical as to how much money must be going towards certain officials campaigns to get their "supporter" to the front of the line.
