As you might've noticed in the Staking menu on the navigation bar, we've added two new forums:
Stakers Forum - The place to post offering stakes, offering to buy action, etc.
Stakees Forum - The place to post offering to be staked, offering to sell action, etc.
For each forum, you will need to create the corresponding profile (ie, staker profile or stakee profile) in order to make a new thread. You'll need one of the two profiles (either staker or stakee) to respond in the forum.
This is a new thing here on P5s so I'm sure our rules, policies and procedures will evolve quickly. We'll also be adding tools, features and other functionality over the coming months as we have more information in the system (ie, things such as pages where you can view a sortable/filterable listing of staker and/or stakee profiles). That being said, ideas and suggestions are always welcome! -

--The Stakee type has MTT SNG, SNG, Cash and STT. Why no option for MTT? I'm pretty sure most everyone views MTT SNGs as different from MTTs.
--I don't see the need to require verification on stars before having that option available. Maybe P5s derives some benefit from users being confirmed, in which I can understand the requirement. If not, I don't see the point. Staker/stakee can deal with that.
--For future development, maybe include limits/types of games for which you want to be staked/want to stake others -
Edited By: mapunk Apr 13th, 2011 at 09:40 PMDefinitely agree w/ the two points that I quoted. This being a MTT-dominant site, I don't see why MTTs aren't on that list. And the second option is something I'd definitely have to have before using the stakee option. I suppose I could put the stakes I'm looking to play in the comment box, but literally every staking agreement has some sort of BI agreement and imo there should actually be specific fields for min/max stakes the stakee wants to be staked for.Originally Posted by tyson219

The MTT thing was a developer mistake. I will get it corrected now. (keep in mind that our programmers don't play poker so... they don't know what all these acronyms mean).
Also, the comment box and/or your thread is the way to go with buyins for now. We will be modifying that in the future for sure though.
Also, goldenad, yes.
We do it mainly to make it a pain in the ass for scammers to ask for stakes. We don't get any benefit from it and it only takes a second or two to do it.Originally Posted by tyson219

Yeah, I'm lazy. Going to verify tonight since it's so easy. It's actually a good idea. I was going to edit my post to take it out since it was a stupid comment.

um. i think you really need to make a separate forum for people selling action/one time stakes...and then people that are just gonna fill the staking forum with "hey i don't have any money, please stake me" type threads...because if the forum is just littered with random people begging for stakes, then it won't be a very good forum

+1 -
Or at least have some good/strict moderating policies, otherwise possible backers are gonna run away from that place.
-
I don't know about strict moderation in there. I think it's better to let people sort it out themselves than for the P5s admins to make some sort of judgment on who is suitable to be staked.
Although, what we have up now is a shell of what the eventual staking system will be on here. We just wanted to get it up fast to get it online in time for scoop and wsop packages, should people want to sell action. So I think the features we plan on adding (ie, filtering) will be helpful for weeding out the randoms. -
So this.

can you also make a seperate forum under the staking forum for possible rail threads? for horses to update their backers on progress, list the tourneys to be played, etc....
i know i have talked to wacky and he wanted me to keep the thread i had updated with results and tourneys played. it would be much easier if their was a seperate rail forum instead of having to filter through pages of stakee ads and such. -
Yup, I sell my action very often in 2 forums, and there's always a rail thread linked to the original one, so the stakee can keep his investors updated. Basically you post your busto hands and cashes.
